Black Desert - The Black Desert is a region characterized by volcano-shaped and widely spaced mounds, stretching approximately 30 km in western Egypt. It lies between the White Desert to the south and the Bahariya Oasis to the north. Most of these mounds are topped with basalt sills, which give them their distinctive black appearance.

Crystal Mountain, Egypt - Crystal Mountain is a ridge of crystals situated between the Bahariya Oasis and the Farafra Oasis.

White Desert - White Desert National Park, established as a protected area in 2002, is located in the Farafra depression, 45 km north of the town of Farafra. Part of the park is within the Farafra Oasis (New Valley Governorate). The park is renowned for its large white chalk rock formations, sculpted by wind and sand erosion. It also features cliffs at the northern end of the Farafra Depression, sand dunes that are part of the Great Sand Sea, as well as Wadi Hennis and oases at Ain El Maqfi and Ain El Wadi. The park’s highest point is El Qess Abu Said (353 m above sea level), and the lowest is Wadi Hennis (32 m). The park is a sanctuary for various animals, including the endangered Rhim gazelle, the vulnerable Dorcas gazelle, Barbary sheep, jackals, Rüppell’s, Red, and Fennec foxes, and Sand cats.
