6/5 - Stella goes above and beyond - It was everything we had hoped for… and then some! Stella was simply phenomenal. We had come little prepared to the region and arrived a day before this tour. We were disappointed, felt like we were missing the realness the region and city had to offer and were so dissatisfied (partially in ourselves) we even thought of leaving early. The tour kicked some life back into the trip, but Stella is what rescued it! In talking casually, she offered suggestions, ideas, places to try… she helped making recommendations, we switched dinner plans, she even helped making a reservation to a restaurant.
She has chosen the locations as easy access from Bologna by car so that we can maximize our time. But this selection was not heavy handed, it was a careful selection: small, local, authentic craft. We did not arrive anywhere with a bus tour, crammed with hundreds of tourists. No! The timing was perfect at the Parmesan manufacturing location as we arrived as a small group was leaving. We had the place to ourselves, she coordinated with the team working onsite to have the craft shown to us, taking the time to do what we wanted to see, answer our questions, follow our pace. Same with the prosciutto and balsamic vinegar. Every. Single. Moment. Was. Perfect.
We felt taken care of, we felt her love and passion for the region, for the food, for the culture… but especially for what she does!
I would give her 6/5 if I could.
P.s. We also learned that Stella does curated tours - this one alone was perfect, but something to keep in mind should/when we come back to the Emilia Romagna Region.

Booked a private tour for... - Booked a private tour for 7 people for Prosciutto, Parmigiano Romano and Balsamic Vinegar. Everything was amazing - the communication before the tour, the guide, and the actual tours. Everyone loved it and it was the highlight of our trip to Italy! Our guide Luca was great and helped with suggestions even after the trip. As per description, our tour included sampling of prosciutto, cheese of different maturation, and balsamic vinegar. It didn’t include breakfast/lunch, but we were not hungry after the tour. We had small kids in the party (5yo and 3yo) and they were not bored during the tour. Also they had car seats ready in the car for them. Would highly recommend!

Zero crowd. Go as close as you can to the producers. Best tour and guide. 100% worth the money. - We traveled through Italy and took various tours, but this was one of the best. Matteo was amazing. He took us to the finest family run prosciutto and balsamic producer to experience the production process firsthand and taste the exceptional products. We also got to see the cheese making process in the Parmesan factory, and taste a variety of cheeses. The pace was perfect; although it was a four hour tour we never felt rushed. We even had time to walk around a beautiful old village. Matteo was very kind and knowledgeable. And the best part was- neither he nor the producers pushed you to buy the products. TBH the products were so good, we ended up buying a whole bunch anyway. The van was immaculate and extremely comfortable, and they were kind enough to take our luggage along and drop us off at the train station after our tour. Book the store and don’t forget to ask for Matteo.

Experienced Emilia-Romagna with all of our senses - Had a great day with Nicoletta and Ugo and learned so much. Having a private tour was perfect for our family and allowed us to ask lots of questions and interact with the workers at each of the locations.

A really great food experience! - We had a wonderful time visiting the parmigiano, prosciutto, and balsamic factories in the region. This tour was better than the semi-private tours because you could visit all three and be back at your hotel for a later lunch, rather than much later in the day. All three stops were interesting, but the balsamic tour was amazing. You get the opportunity to visit the home of the owner, see their “attic” of balsamic barrels, and get a true history of balsamic production in the region. Frederica (our guide) was incredible. She gave us the history of these three industries in the region and shared her own thoughts on current production methods. She was very engaging and made the trip seem shorter than it was. If you only have a few (like 5) hours and want to explore these exciting food histories, this is a great tour.

TOP Food Tour - Stella is really super!
Tours with attention to detail: from the choice of stops, made with impeccable taste, to transfers with driver on new and comfortable vehicles.
I recommend Slow Emotion both for the experience it offers and for the mindset: we did so many things, all with the right timing, without hurrying, enjoying every moment.
Highly recommended for those who want to pamper both the soul and the palate!
