Hanoi - Bac Ha (L/D)

Bac Ha - The tour guide will meet the group at 8:00 A.M at the hotel in Hanoi and proceed along the highway heading northeast towards Lao Cai. There will be stops at several rest areas along the way. Upon reaching the destination, the journey continues towards Bac Ha, where lunch will be served in town. Afterward, there will be a one-hour visit to the H’mong king’s palace of Hoang A Tuong, followed by a scenic walk on the trails behind the mountains. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a lodge in Bac Ha.

Bac Ha - Phung Village Trekking (B/L/D)

Hoang Su Phi - The route from Bac Ha to Phung Village is winding. After a 3-hour drive on the zigzag road with stops at some villages, lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant. The driver will then drop the group off at the trailhead for a hike to Phung Village. These trails are quite challenging, offering views of fields and La Chi buffalo herds from above. The La Chi community is a small ethnic minority in Vietnam, residing in secluded border areas.

Phung - Nam Hong Trekking (B/L/D)

Hoang Su Phi - After waking up at the homestay and enjoying a homemade breakfast, the group will pack for another adventure. Visits to the villages of the La Chi community will reveal women with black teeth and bright smiles. They weave fabrics, hand-dye crafts, dry rice in the fields, and live in traditional stilt houses with three or four generations. After two hours of walking through the fields, the group will travel by car to Thong Nguyen, known for its terraced rice plateau. Lunch will be at a local restaurant before trekking through the villages and rice fields of Nam Hong. The night will be spent with a Dao ethnic family.

Nam Hong Trekking - Hanoi (B/L)

Hoang Su Phi - On the final day, a last meal will be shared with the host family for breakfast, followed by a 3-hour trek off the beaten path to explore the many high-altitude villages around Thong Nguyen. The path ascends for about half an hour, revealing lush forests, tea plantations, terraced rice fields, and majestic mountain slopes. During the hike, lunch will be with another local family, and there will be many opportunities to interact with locals along the way. The group will then return to Hanoi by van, with occasional rest stops. Arrival back at the hotel in Hanoi will be in the early evening, marking the time to bid farewell to the guide, driver, and group.
