The journey across the sands at low tide is enchanting, reminiscent of the era of Saxon Kings and Celtic Priests. Participants are likely to see and hear Grey seals as they rest on the sands. Stories from Roman times will be shared, allowing you to envision early pilgrims making their way to honor St Aidan and St Cuthbert. Holy Island is a unique destination, and the most rewarding approach is by walking across the sands—barefoot, if you wish to fully embrace the experience!
The walk is a one-way trip to the island, with a return to the starting point in the operator’s vehicle after enjoying some free time on Holy Island.
