Beauly Priory was established in the 13th century as a monastery for the Valliscaulian order of monks from Dijon, France. Oliver Cromwell’s forces were responsible for its destruction in the 16th century. For centuries, it served as a burial site for the chiefs of Clan Fraser and Mackenzie and their families. There is an Outlander connection, as it is where Claire met the Seer.
