Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport - The driver will be waiting with a sign displaying your name in the lobby of your Lanzhou hotel, ready to transfer you to the airport for a 2-hour flight to Beijing.

Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) - Upon arrival, your tour guide will be at the exit of the arrival hall with a sign displaying your name. Board your private vehicle and head directly to Tian’anmen Square.

Tian’anmen Square is the largest public square in the world, home to the National Museum of China, the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong, and the Monument to the People’s Heroes. Follow your tour guide, stroll along the square, and learn about its rich history and stories.

Forbidden City - The Palace Museum - From there, enter through the South Gate to the magnificent Forbidden City, a 250-acre complex of courtyards, palaces, pavilions, and gardens that served as the imperial palace for over 500 years. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987.

The Imperial Garden of The Palace Museum - Discover ancient treasures from thousands of years of history and admire the maze of palaces, gardens, and stunning courtyards as your guide shares their histories and stories.

Your tour concludes at the north gate of the Forbidden City.

Back Lakes (Hou Hai) - Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Then, proceed to the Back Lakes area to appreciate the beautiful lake and surroundings.

Beijing: Great Wall at Mutianyu - Olympic Park - Drum and Bell Tower (B, L)

Mutianyu Great Wall - Your driver and tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby at 8:30 am for departure to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Relax on the 1.5-hour drive to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall.

The Mutianyu Great Wall is more rugged and slightly less crowded than the more famous Badaling section. Over 96% of Mutianyu is covered with trees and orchards.

Follow your tour guide to hike up and down different towers, and enjoy the convenience of a cable car round trip or a toboggan ride at the wall.

Olympic Park - Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then drive past the Olympic Park and stop for photos. Beijing Olympic Park hosted the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympics. The two famous stadiums are The Water Cube and The Bird’s Nest, with The Bird’s Nest being the main venue of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, accommodating 91,000 spectators.

Bell and Drum Towers - Afterwards, visit the Beijing Bell and Drum Towers, go up to the tower to watch the drum performance, then stroll along the Hutong alleys in this area to observe local life.

Beijing: Temple of Heaven - Pearl Market - Summer Palace (B, L)

Temple of Heaven - The driver and tour guide will meet you at your hotel lobby at 8:30 am. Today, your exploration begins with the Temple of Heaven, once visited by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual prayer ceremonies. Follow your tour guide to stroll around the park, observe the daily life of local retirees, and learn about the temple’s history and stories.

Pearl Market (Hongqiao Market) - If you wish to purchase souvenirs, stop at the Silk or Pearl market for some free time shopping. Your tour guide will teach you how to negotiate prices.
