Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Situated in the heart of Beijing, China, the Palace Museum is among the largest and best-preserved ancient palace architectural complexes globally, and is a key museum in China. Its architectural style is distinctive, elegant, and grand, highlighting the treasures of ancient Chinese court culture, and drawing tourists and scholars worldwide for visits and research. The Palace Museum’s history dates back to the Ming Dynasty, established in 1420, serving as the imperial palaces for the Ming and Qing dynasties. It boasts a vast construction scale, spanning 750,000 square meters, with over 9,000 buildings and approximately 1.8 million valuable cultural relics. The Forbidden City’s architectural layout is compact, divided into two sections: the Outer Court and the Inner Court. The Outer Court is where the emperor conducted ceremonial and administrative activities, while the Inner Court was the residence for the emperor and his concubines.
Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) - Tiananmen Square is located on East Chang’an Avenue in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It measures 880 meters in length from north to south and 500 meters in width from east to west, covering an area of 440,000 square meters, making it the largest urban square in the world. The square’s central axis is symmetrically aligned, capable of hosting a grand gathering of one million people. Along Beijing’s central axis, from north to south, stand the national flag pole, the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Mao Zedong Memorial Hall, and the Zhengyangmen City Tower.
