• Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) - Guests will be picked up at either 8:30 am or 1:30 pm, based on their preference, by a private tour guide in the hotel lobby. They will then take a taxi or subway, at their own expense, to Tian’anmen Square, the largest city square in the world. Visitors will view the ancient Qianmen Gate, the Monument to the People’s Heroes, and the Great Hall of the People from the outside, while the tour guide shares the history and stories behind these significant structures.

• Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Following the square visit, guests will continue walking to the Forbidden City, which served as the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. For approximately 500 years, it was the residence of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of the Chinese government.

The Forbidden City is divided into two sections. The southern section, known as the Outer Court, was where the emperor exercised supreme power over the nation. The northern section, or the Inner Court, was where he lived with his royal family. The tour follows a south-to-north route, with the guide sharing fascinating stories and facts along the way.

• Hutong Tour - Afterward, guests will take a short subway ride to the hutongs near the downtown area. In the hutong alleys, they will see local stores, vegetable shops, residences, and courtyards. The guide will share the story of this living tradition, offering a journey through time. Guests will visit various restaurants to sample Family Noodles, Beijing Wraps, BBQ Cooking, and enjoy cooking and eating around a hotpot, as well as tasting local beers, including a pint of homemade craft beer or several Beijing sodas.

At the end of the tour, the private tour guide can assist guests in finding their way back to the hotel, or they may choose to spend more time exploring the hutong area on their own.
