• Bell and Drum Towers - Bell Tower (Zhonglou)

  History & Features: Constructed entirely of brick during the Ming Dynasty, the Bell Tower was a crucial timekeeping structure in ancient Beijing. Its enormous bronze bell, known for its deep resonant sound, represents the city’s “Morning Bell” tradition.

4. Drum Tower (Gulou)

   Drum Performance Schedule: Hourly performances daily – 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, 4:30 PM (peak season includes a 5:15 PM show; off-season’s final show is at 4:50 PM).
   History & Features: Featuring a classic brick-and-wood design with green-glazed tiles, the Drum Tower contains 25 drums symbolizing the 24 solar terms and a year. Its performances highlight ancient agricultural life and seasonal changes, reviving the “Evening Drum” culture of historic Beijing.

• Beihai Park (Beihai Gongyuan) - Park Operating Hours: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM (April – October, last entry 8:30 PM); 6:30 AM – 8:00 PM (November – March, last entry 7:30 PM)
