Very knowledgeable - Tony was such a good tour guide and was great at explaining everything you had questions about. The drive there and back from the Great Wall was great aswell

The great wall of China and great layover experience - Tony is a great guy with a positive and professional approach. Very good communication from the beginning and everything went really well. We recommend this layover trip to anyone who wants to see the Great Wall of China while waiting for their next plane.

Awesome - Tony was an incredible guide. He was friendly, flexible, helpful, and had a great sense of humor. We had a situation during our trip that required medical attention and Tony acted swiftly to get help. He even continued to send us messages after our trip to check in on how we were doing. It was so much fun to spend the day at the Wall with him and I highly recommend this trip.

Once in a lifetime experience - We had a transit time at Beijing airport for about 20 hours and wanted to see the Chinese wall. Since we were uncertain of our ETA with flight delays and customs, we wanted to be safe and booked this private tour. It was top 👌 Driver and guide picked us up and dropped us off again. Shane, our guide, speaks fluent English and has been on the wall many times over the last decade.
We drove about 110 minutes from the airport to the wall. There you change from your transport to big busses that bring you nearer to the wall. Two options to go up from there: walk or the cable lift. We opted for the easy way. Once on top you have a magnificent view and Shane, who already informed us during the drive, showed us around. Impressive and the Chinese Wall can now be removed from our bucket list ✅ For the way down you have three options: walk, the cable lift again or slide. Since the line for the slide was at least an hour long, we took the cable again. Nice view over the area and you see part of the impressive wall.

Awesome layover trip! - Amazing trip to Mutianyu during our 20hr layover. Tony, our guide, was excellent. Great communication, everything went very smoothly and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt loads, and had such a great time - stress-free in the 35deg heat.

Fantastic guide, fantastic view, fantastic day!! - Shane was extremely knowledgeable and experienced and it definitely showed! He went at our pace, offering options and explaining the different routes up the wall, made sure we were well taken care of and we had so many laughs and good times. Couldn’t recommend more! Good photographer too!

Simatai great wall + water town - The experience was amazing, really made our layover in Beijing, went to the Simatai portion of the great wall for sunset then walked through the water town after. The views were stunning and our guide Tony was fantastic at explaining the history and just chatting with us in general!
Would highly recommend.

Going up the wall on a sunny day - It was exactly what we needed for our overlay!the ride to the Great Wall was smooth and the wall was breathtaking…we enjoyed the views and Tony’s explanations .We also had a very nice lunch at the farmer’s restaurant ,we recommend the dumplings and the chestnut pork belly.Tony was super friendly and knowledgeable!

Organized, Reliable, Friendly, Experience ! - We had an 8-hour layover from Thailand, and they provided us with very clear instructions on how to get our Visa-Free Permit to leave the airport, which was such a relief. Our guide, Yuan, was super helpful and friendly. She got us through the busy line at the Great Wall quickly while still giving us enough time to grab food and souvenirs!

Worst Tour - I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the terrible experience I had on the tour booked through Viator. The whole thing was a complete disaster from start to finish. The supposed guide was also the driver, and he barely spoke English, provided almost no useful information, and the schedule was a total mess.
The driver/guide only wanted to rush everything, making decisions without informing us, badly managing the timing. He even asked me to be ready earlier than the time agreed in the app. The worst part is that he didn’t even accompany me during the visit. Instead, he stayed in the car waiting about 2 km away from the entrance because he was too lazy to park closer and wait through some traffic.
Worst of all, as a driver, he was awful — driving dangerously, ignoring traffic rules, and making everyone feel unsafe at all times. This was not only unprofessional but outright reckless.
I am deeply unhappy with both the local company organizing this nightmare and Viator for allowing such poor services to be offered on your platform. This experience has ruined my trip, and while I may consider not booking through Viator again, I expect some explanation or response, as it is unacceptable to be charged that amount for such a terrible tour.
You need to seriously reconsider who you partner with, or you risk losing more customers.
