Forbidden city: Great. - Lina was very friendly and helpful. We had a very happy and beautiful day together in the Forbidden City. For us it was very pleasant that we did not have to search for where which entrance and where which control is.
We are especially grateful to Linda for her support in booking tickets for the People's Congress - a unique experience. Thank you very much Linda. 💗

City Tour - We had Tiananmen Square, forbidden city and temple of heaven tour. Our guide was Linda. She was one the best guide and sweetest people we met. She helped us everywhere, she even helped us by guiding us at the railway station and helping us to get to our train. If you book a guide be sure to choose linda.

Tour Guides made all the difference - This was a fantastic tour, but the primary contact (Linda) and tour guide (Helen) were fabulous and made the visit even better.
A couple of things to note - The Forbidden City is always busy. It's a must-do if you visit Beijing (of course), but doing it on your own will be hard to navigate. Linda did a great job of pre-booking our tickets (to avoid waiting in queue for them) and Helen helped us navigate the tons of people visiting this historic place. Helen was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate. Her knowledge was more than just the importance and history of the Forbidden City ... she was great at helping us find the idea spots for photos (not easy in such a busy place) and taking paths that helped minimize the crowds. It made the visit great.
And, then Tiananmen Square. It was closed in the morning of our visit, due to a state visit. Helen was aware of that and started us in the Forbidden City first, so we could visit Tiananmen Square afterwards. It was smart planning on her part. We wrapped up at the Forbidden City and made our way to Tiananmen Square... and had no wait to get in and it was mostly empty. That tells me Helen did some great stuff and was much better than other tour guides, because she got it in when so many others weren't and there is usually a 45-60 minute queue to get into Tiananmen Square.
So, overall ... could you visit these places on your own? Yes and you'll save a few bucks. But, without the help of people like Linda and Helen you'll end up doing more work and get less history and context. Their efforts were well worth the price of this tour. Plus, they are also nice, honest, and helpful people.

Great Guide and Good Day - Good tour and very good guide. Helen, our guide, was extremely passionate and attentive to our needs. We started the tour at the Forbidden City because Tiananmen Square was closed in the morning. She did a great job of showing us the highlight of Forbidden City, then once we finished we moved to Tiananmen Square (which had reopened). Great knowledge of what we were seeing and context. Having her take care of everything made it super easy and efficient for us. Overall, a good tour. Linda, who did the arrangements with the tour company was also very good.

Excellent tours with Linda, giving great meaning to the sites that we were seeing - We spent two days doing tours with Linda. She took us to see The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and then the following day we saw the Summer Palace, Lama Temple, and the Golden Mask show. Linda gave great history and meaning to the sites and explain things clearly. She was very attentive to be sure that we understood what she was saying and explaining. She was patient with our 12 and 13-year-old boys, and even brought them each a special bookmark gift! Linda also followed up with us after the trip, helping to arrange a car to the train station for the next leg of our trip, and checking in on us to be sure that everything was going smoothly. I would highly recommend working with Linda, and this group, for your travels in Beijing. It was very helpful to have a Chinese speaker to navigate some of the ticketing and security challenges that have been different from other countries that we visited.

unforgettable experience! - The tour guide Lily, with her professional knowledge and boundless enthusiasm, gave us a lively history lesson. She explained every detail of the Forbidden City to us in fluent English, which greatly benefited me. The driver, Mr. Wang, is very friendly and professional. The next time we visit Beijing, I will definitely choose FriendlyChina Heritage Tours services again, looking forward to embarking on this unforgettable journey once more.
