Following the meal, the exploration of the renowned Mutianyu Great Wall will commence. This section, dating back to the Ming Dynasty, is considered the essence of the entire wall, stretching from Gubeikou in the east to Juyong Pass in the west. Historically, it has served as a crucial military outpost safeguarding the capital region. Notable landmarks along this stretch include the Zhengguantai Watchtower, the Dajiaolou Tower, and the breathtaking Eagle Flies Upside Down. Must-See Experience But Be Patient.... - Always carry your passport and be patient if you visit Tiananmen Square as you go through so many check points. One check point actually makes you take everything out of every pocket as they pat you down, so don't carry much stuff. Also, if you bring a purse or backpack, it takes longer to go through the check points as the lines for checking bags is longer and again they make you take everything out. Also note that large bags are prohibited. Historic Tiananmen Square is a must-see world's largest city square - it's gigantic, and is the way to enter the must-see fabulous Forbidden City (see my review of the Forbidden City).

★★★★★We recently booked a private full-day tour covering Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, an authentic Peking duck lunch, and the majestic Great Wall (Mutianyu section), and it was hands-down one of the best travel experiences we've ever had. Our guide Linda and driver Mr Liu were an absolute dream team!Linda is an exceptional guide—knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly engaging. She brought the history of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City to life with fascinating stories, insider details about the emperors, architecture, and cultural significance that you simply can't get from a guidebook or audio tour. Her English is fluent and clear, she paced the tour perfectly to avoid fatigue (especially important in the vast Forbidden City), and she was always attentive to our interests, answering every question with enthusiasm and patience. She even shared fun local tips and adjusted the itinerary slightly when we wanted more time at certain spots.The Peking duck lunch she arranged was phenomenal—crispy, flavorful, perfectly carved, with all the traditional accompaniments. It felt like a real authentic Beijing treat, not a tourist trap, and the restaurant was comfortable and well-located between sites.Driver Liu was fantastic too—professional, safe, punctual, and so courteous. The vehicle was spotless and comfortable, with cold water always available. He navigated Beijing's traffic effortlessly, got us to each location quickly and without stress, and even helped with photos and small things.
His driving made the long stretch to the Great Wall feel easy and relaxing.Together, they created a seamless, stress-free day where we could fully immerse ourselves in Beijing's wonders without worrying about crowds, tickets, timing, or logistics. Linda's warmth and Liu's reliability made us feel like we were exploring with caring local friends rather than hired services.If you're visiting Beijing, especially for the first time, do yourself a favor and book with Linda and Liu. They turned what could have been a hectic sightseeing day into a truly memorable, enjoyable adventure. Highly, highly recommended—thank you both for an incredible experience! Fabulous Fun Tour with Guide Linda - Fabulous fun tour by excellent guide Linda. She is super knowledgeable and took wonderful care of us. Tianaman Square, Forbidden City, and Mutianyu Great Wall were fantastic. She also took us to a nice restaurant where we had delicious dishes, especially the Peking Duck. Driver Mr. Liu was safe and efficient, getting us place to place easily. Thank you Linda for a perfect day!

Exceeded All Expectations! - If you're like us, short on time but eager to experience the most essential history and culture of Beijing, this itinerary is undoubtedly the perfect choice!
The schedule was well-paced without being rushed—everything felt smooth and efficient. Our tour guide Linda was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and engaging, with excellent time management throughout the day.
A special thanks to our driver, Mr. Liu, for his skillful driving and the clean, comfortable vehicle. We were able to relax fully during all transfers.
We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Beijing!

Awesome Experience Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven - Linda was a wonderful tour guide. She arrived at our hotel 30mins early to make sure she picked us up on time! We had a private car take us to The Forbidden City were she taught us about China's long history. We then went to The Temple of Heaven were she explained the link between the Emperor and the Gods. It was extremely fascinating. The lunch was brilliant! Beijing Duck with other traditional Chinese foods. I would definitely recommend Linda's services

Personal itinerary and tours with Linda - Linda has been amazing since the moment I contacted her. Not only getting the information to me about a personal itinerary but helpful tips about China SIM cards and many other tips. The guided tours were informative and interesting and Linda’s knowledge adds to the experience.
The advantage to having a tour with Linda is she knows the best times to get to attractions to avoid the long queues. The Great Wall was a bucket list dream and the days was amazing. After the climb we had a great early lunch food was amazing. I wanted to experience the food as well as the culture and Linda put together a detailed itinerary for my days in Beijing. Everything has been brilliant so well put together and met with my expectations. The tour round the local market and the Hutongs was great summer palace beautiful place to visit I went with Helen another tour guide who was great too. The drivers are very good too didn’t leave us waiting for long and navigated busy traffic.
