Juyong Pass of Great Wall - A private car will take you to the Juyong Pass Great Wall. This area is favored by backpackers for its fewer tourists and beautiful scenery. The steps are well-maintained but steep and uneven, with some being very tall and others quite shallow. After visiting this attraction, enjoy a one-hour private car transfer to your hotel near the Huanghuacheng Great Wall, which you will explore the following day.

Discovering Huanghuacheng Great Wall and Mutianyu Great Wall, then traveling to Gubeikou

Jinshanling Great Wall - Located in Luanping County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, this section was built in 1570 during the Ming dynasty. Partially restored, it allows visitors to imagine its original appearance. Known for its stunning views, it is a “Paradise of Photographers.”

Simatai Great Wall - One of the most untouched sections, located near Gubei Water Town, it was the first to open for evening visits in China. A cable car ride offers effortless access to magical night views. Visitors can explore well-preserved watchtowers under the glow of lanterns, with views of Gubei Water Town below.

Exploring Huangya Pass Great Wall and returning to Beijing

Great Wall at Huangya Pass (Huangyaguan Changcheng) - A 1.5-hour drive takes you to a hidden part of the Great Wall before returning to Beijing. This off-the-beaten-path section offers a unique experience and deeper understanding of the Great Wall. Located in Ji County, Tianjin City, it was originally built in the Northern Qi Dynasty and restored in the Ming Dynasty. The yellowish rock and cliff at dusk give it its name. After exploring, a two-hour private car ride will return you to Beijing.

Temple of Heaven - A UNESCO World Heritage Site, constructed between 1406 and 1420, it was used by Ming and Qing emperors for religious ceremonies. Now a park, it offers a glimpse into imperial history.

The Great Wall of China, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was recognized as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World in 2007. Constructed over various periods, the earliest sections date back to the 7th century BC and were unified during the Qin dynasty. The most famous parts were built by the Ming dynasty (1368–1644). Spanning an impressive 13,170.7 miles (or 21,196 kilometers), the Great Wall is a marvel, though it is not possible to walk its entire length. Many tours in China offer a few hours of hiking on the Great Wall, with some trails or tours lasting several days.
