Huanghuacheng Great Wall is not only more stunning but also attracts fewer visitors compared to other tourist sites. It served as a crucial military pass to protect the imperial tombs during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Constructed along the mountain ridges, the Wall utilized both stone and bricks. In the early 1950s, local authorities established two dam sites for irrigation and flood control, causing parts of the Wall to become submerged. Visitors will encounter two reservoirs at the start and end of the hike. Huanghuacheng was vital in safeguarding the imperial capital and mausoleums during the Ming Dynasty. To defend the capital and imperial tombs, two types of Walls were constructed north of Beijing: the Outer Great Wall and the Inner Great Wall. Huanghuacheng is part of the Inner Great Wall.
