According to your schedule, your private driver will be waiting for you at the airport, train station, or in your hotel lobby. It’s advisable to bring some snacks to replenish your energy after a long hike. We have prepared plenty of bottled water for you, so no need to worry about that.
After about a 2-hour drive from Beijing, your driver will drop you off at Xizhazi village and guide you on how to find the trail leading up to Zhengbeilou tower. Once at the tower, please turn left and continue walking towards Mutianyu.
The No.20 tower at Mutianyu is connected with Jiankou, but the window is blocked by the Mutianyu company, so you will need to climb a short wall to reach the other side where the Mutianyu section is located. It’s an easy climb, so there’s no need to worry. Starting from the No.20 watchtower, the hike to the No.6 watchtower takes about 1.5 hours. During this time, you can enjoy the stunning views of the restored Great Wall at Mutianyu, one of the most popular sections among foreigners. Then, enjoy the slide from the toboggan station at the No.6 tower down to the bus station to meet your driver for the return trip to Beijing.
