- Gubei Water Town - Gubei Water Town is nestled around the picturesque Mandarin Duck Lake Reservoir and is adjacent to the Simatai Great Wall, known for being the most perilous and awe-inspiring part of the Great Wall. Often referred to as ‘Wuzhen in Beijing’, Gubei Water Town features a harmonious blend of mountains, water, and historic villages. The majority of the structures are rebuilt in the traditional courtyard style. Originating from five ancient villages and a water source, this water town has evolved into a prominent destination for sightseeing and holidays.
- Simatai Great Wall - The Simatai Great Wall (司马台长城 Sīmǎtái Chángchéng) remains largely in its original condition, as it has not been extensively renovated like other sections near Beijing. It is located in Miyun County, 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) northwest of central Beijing. This section, constructed in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), stretches 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles) and connects to the Jinshanling Great Wall to the west. Climbing the wall is quite challenging, but the experience is incredibly rewarding.

Brilliant service - We have spent 4 days with Benny and his drivers, our itinerary was put together for us perfectly. The communications and arrangements were great. I would definitely recommend if you are travelling to China. It takes all the hassle and worries away as everything is arranged for you!

Very responsive and dependable company - Gubei is not the star attraction but Simatai is n should not be missed especially the year round night tour. We have to thank Benny and his driver for bringing us there and back to Beijing safely. Benny was v responsive and His driver was also v patient n stick to the road speed. Great experience using him.

Excellent experience in small - Su was a great guide! Extremely attentive and ready to help, took us fruit, water, stopped for us to pick up food on the way. We highly recommend the experience.

Avoid more crowded Great Wall options and discover the charmingly romantic Gubei Water Town - Visited the wall first. Would have walked but did not start early enough to have the time, so took the round trip cable car. No crowds at all and fantastic views. Then wandered through charming Gubei water town as the golden hour lent the mountains a glorious golden glow. As it got dark the town became even more magical as we wound our way to the exit. Our driver got our tickets and explained everything clearly with his phone translator. highly recommend this tour. It was easily the best tour we had while in Beijing.

Friendly Driver - Despite the long drive, driver Duan was very friendly, kind and considerate. Making the ride very comfortable.
Gubei water town is a quaint village and very picturesque! The cable car up to Simatai is also very convenient!
Highly recommended experience!

Friendly driver - Though location is far from Beijing, driver Duan was very kind, friendly and considerate - making the journey comfortable and smooth. Even if you don't speak Chinese, the translation app is useful and there are no problems communicating.
Gubei and Simatai itself is beautiful and an enjoyable experience

Magical day in Gubei Water Town - We could not have had a better day. This excursion was so worth the 2/2.5 hour drive from Beijing. Our driver was great - he set us up with all of the tickets we needed when we got there. The Simatai section of the Great Wall is so incredible. There were very few other people (unlike the large crowds at other sections) and the views from the wall were breathtaking. Water Town is just magical. We made sure to do the tour later in the day so we would be able to walk through Water Town after sunset when it is lit up. Again, the town was not at all crowded. The town itself is so clean and well maintained - it looks like it was just built. We did a boat ride from the entrance to the other end of the town where the cable car to get up to the wall was. After going to the wall, we strolled through Water town and had a great meal. Next time we visit China we plan on staying in one of the many hotels in Water Town so we can really explore the town.
