Originally a historic military border village, it has been transformed into a replica of Wuzhen Water Town in Southern China. Featuring charming canals, bridges, and courtyard houses, it has evolved into a popular sightseeing and holiday destination.
The experience begins with a hotel pickup, followed by a comfortable drive to Gubei Water Town. During the journey, the tour guide will share insights about the Great Wall’s history, and guests can enjoy the scenic mountain views from the window.
Upon arrival at the water town, visitors will be captivated by the unique scenery, leaving city life behind. Strolling along the main street paved with flagstones, there are numerous food spots and shops, including a kite workshop, lantern shop, and cloisonné crafts shop. The tour also includes visits to the old safeguard agency, temple, academy, and eight banners guild hall. Walking through the town, guests can cross several bridges, perfect for capturing stunning photographs.
Returning to the town, an enchanting “Kongming lantern” show awaits, where hundreds of lanterns ascend into the night sky. As night falls, the water town takes on a magical ambiance, with a view of the Great Wall from the village, beautifully illuminated.

Known for its “dangerous, extraordinary, and special” characteristics, Simatai is the only part of the UNESCO-listed structure open to visitors at night, with stunning illumination from dusk.
As sunset approaches, guests head to the Simatai Section of the Great Wall, offering a breathtaking view of the sunset and an overview of Gubei Water Town. To enhance comfort and relaxation, a cable car ride is provided for ascending and descending the wall, offering a unique perspective of the entire section under the night sky.
