- Martyr’s Square - Situated in the heart of downtown Beirut, Martyrs’ Square, historically referred to as “Al Burj” or “Place des Cannons,” commemorates the 6 May 1916 executions of Lebanese nationalists by the Ottomans, ordered by Jamal Pasha during World War I.
- Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque - The Mohammad Al-Amin Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque, is the largest mosque in Lebanon, located in downtown Beirut. This grand amber-colored mosque near Martyrs’ Square was inaugurated in 2008 and features four minarets, each 65 meters tall. The mosque boasts multiple domes made from light blue tiles and several arches that span multiple stories.
- Al-Omari Mosque - Originally constructed during the era of Omar Bin El Khattab in 635 AD, the Al-Omari Grand Mosque was converted into the Church of Saint John by the Crusaders in the 12th century, and later restored to a mosque by the Mamluks in 1291. After suffering damage during the Civil War, its refurbishment was completed in 2004.
- Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint George - Serving as the seat of the Greek Orthodox Metropolitan bishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Beirut and its dependencies, the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint George is the oldest church in Beirut and one of the oldest in the region. Located in the heart of Beirut’s city center, the first Christian temple on this site dates back to the mid-sixth century AD and is closely linked to Beirut’s renowned Law School.
- Place de l’Etoile - Also known as Nejme Square, Place de l’Étoile is the central square in the Downtown area. It houses the Lebanese Parliament and its associated buildings, two cathedrals, a museum, and numerous cafes and restaurants. Renowned for its 1930 four-faced Rolex clock and distinctive architecture, the square is a globally recognized symbol of Beirut City.
- Roman Baths - The Roman Berytus baths are the largest outdoor site in downtown Beirut. Discovered in 1968-1969, they underwent significant renovation in the mid-1990s. Roman Berytus featured four major bath complexes, with the first established in the early first century under Augustus. The devastating Berytus earthquake of 551 AD destroyed all the baths. Today, the Roman Berytus Baths reflect the site’s ancient traditions, with one bath serving as a venue for artistic performances and concerts.
- Beirut Souks - Beirut Souks is a commercial hub in Beirut City Center, offering over 200 shops, 25 restaurants and cafes, an entertainment center, and a cinema complex. It is the largest and most diverse shopping and leisure area in Beirut.

- Saifi Village - Exiting through the Bourj area, the tour continues to Saifi Village, an upscale residential neighborhood in Beirut located at the southeastern edge of Centre Ville.
- Samir Kassir Square and Statue - Returning to the Bourj area, this time from the Alnahar building, passing by Samir Qassir Garden.

Informative walking tour - I had a very informative tour in Beirut with a very kind guide. We strolled through several districts, including Ashrafieh, Souks, and Gemmayzeh. Georgette gives us a thorough overview of each venue. I would have missed those monuments, buildings, and street graffiti if I had not participated in this activity. Highly recommended!

Excellent Beirut walking tour - We had a wonderful walking tour through Beirut with an excellent guide, Georgette. We walked from Zaytouna Bay, to the corniche, to Achrafieh, Gemmayzeh and Beirut Souks and passed many interesting sites and buildings and streets. Georgette told us a lot about Beirut and took us to places and streets that we would never have visited without a guide. So I would recommend her and Lebanon Tours and Travels to everyone!
