Located north of Beitou, Yangmingshan was known as Caoshan (Grass Mountain) during the Japanese occupation due to its grassy terrain and sparse visitation. Post World War II, the KMT government renamed it Yangmingshan and established a park. It is the only park in Taiwan featuring volcanic geography and hot springs, adjacent to Shamao Mountain and Qixing Mountain, with Datun Mountain on the right and Guanyin Mountain in front. -
