Very thought provoking tour - I grew up with the troubles always being on TV but this tour gives an insight to the stories you don’t hear about. The first part of the tour was with an IRA member called Jack who spoke about how he saw things. He took us to memorials dedicated to volunteers of the IRA. We then met our second guide whose name I didn’t get and he showed us where innocent men women and children were murdered and told us the stories behind the murders. We ended the tour at a memorial garden where there were photos of all the bombings and the innocent people who lost their lives in the troubles it was very thought provoking. We had a comfort break early into this part of the tour where we could also get a drink as the weather was very hot. The pace is moderate I found it an easy walk as we kept stopping while they tell their sides of events.

Fantastic experience- Highly recommend! - There were four of us who went on the Conflicting stories tour, the first guide Jack was interesting and knowledgeable, he was encouraging of questions and respectful of our group, he had a good sense of humour too, The second guide was very engaging and had a powerful voice which made him easy to hear. He loved questions and answered them fully. We all really loved this experience, although a tragic and sad situation is explored it is done so with respect on both sides. I highly recommend this tour.

A fantastic way to learn more than a book can provide. - This was a great way to learn more about The Troubles in Northern Ireland. The two guides we had were both very knowledgeable and offered a first hand perspective on what it was like growing up in Belfast during the height of the conflict between Catholics and Protestants (Nationalists vs. Loyalists). Make sure you have good walking shoes and dress in layers. The day we went was sunny and in the 60's, but it was also very windy. The whole tour takes about three hours. It may be smart to bring water and a snack. Also, bring a pen/marker if you want to sign the Peace Wall.

Well worth the money! - This tour was fantastic. Was nervous to go being British especially the first half and whilst the first guide made us welcome l feel his opinion was very one sided in terms of the conflict and was completely opposite to the second half tour guide who question what it was all for and provided evidence to back up his claims. Brilliant tour and well worth the money!

Important and Transformational - My mother and I did a tour last week and were thoroughly moved as Irish Americans. Pog gave us our tour on the Catholic side of the wall and was honest, raw, and at times quite funny! He gave important context on the personal side of conflict and offered a human-centered focus to what is often scrubbed clean of human stories and instead relies on dehumanizing narratives of violence. Although my personal beliefs did not align with our guide on the other side of the wall (forgive me it was loud when he introduced himself) I found his honesty about his time in the Red Hand Commandos impressive, reflective, and in many ways sensitive. In general, the idea of tourism around this area is complex - but doing a tour with former political prisoners is the most sensitive and appropriate way to go about it in my opinion. There is much to learn from the conflict in Northern Ireland - especially as Americans in this time in our history. This is a must do tour. P.s. You will be on your feet for several hours - they do give you several opportunities for a restroom and a ten minute break in between the two tours at a small convenience store with a restroom. I would not recommend the tour for those with mobility challenges.

Fascinating - Fred was our Tour guide for the first half of tour and shared with us his experiences growing up during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. He discussed how it shaped his life and his country. The stories were heartfelt and bought a humanizing piece to a war that Americans were not well versed in. Highly recommend. There is some walking but mostly listening to stories of the IRA and republicans, followed by stories from the Loyalist. It was a balanced view of conflicting stories.

Don't miss it! - This was a fascinating tour given by two different guides giving both sides of the story. It is a must-do tour for anyone with an interest in the history of this country. Both guides spoke with passion and first hand experience of the war between the two groups, which made for a riveting 3 hours.

Conflicting stories - The Irish guide was very emotive and informative and got a great inside into his perspective of history. The loyalist guide was lovely but very hard to hear and I felt less informative and at times dismissed questions

Two halves to the walk strong & weak - The first half of the walk was told passionately with obvious bias but powerful, the second half of the walk did not counter the first and simply pointed out the murals & meaning which was weak!

Disappointing - The guides should have used microphones and speakers It was hard to understand what they were saying. Also, at times they would give their backs to the group and talk - inaudible! Neither welcomed questions. I felt sorry for this American guy who posed a question and got a very angry reply. It was clear they had different ways of telling the story, but they ended up not telling the same story.
