- Dunluce Castle - Dramatically situated on a basalt outcrop along Antrim’s north coast, Dunluce Castle was once the stronghold of the MacDonnell clan and has stood as a magnificent coastal fortress since the 13th century. With a rich history influenced by Viking, medieval, and later periods, the castle is one of the most renowned landmarks on the Antrim Coast.
Its rugged location overlooking the North Atlantic has made it famous not only in Irish history but also in popular culture, appearing in Game of Thrones as Pyke and inspiring C.S. Lewis in The Chronicles of Narnia.
Please note: this is a photo stop only. Entry to the castle is not included, but there will be time to take photos and enjoy the scenery.
- Giant’s Causeway - The Causeway features 40,000 interlocking hexagonal basalt columns stretching along 6 kilometers of Northern Ireland’s northern coast, formed by volcanic activity during the Tertiary period, between 50 and 60 million years ago.
