• St. Mary’s Church - When Seamus Heaney passed away in August 2013, he surprised the local community by choosing his native Bellaghy as his final resting place. His gravestone faces westward over his cherished Tamlaghduff, bearing the simple epitaph ‘Walk on Air Against Your Better Judgement.’
• The Turf Man - Seamus Heaney’s last public contribution to the Bellaghy community was the unveiling of The Turf Man by artist David Annand in April 2008. Inspired by his iconic poem ‘Digging,’ Seamus remarked at the unveiling that ‘it is the right image, in the right place.’
