Fantastic museum, respectfully created - I have been wanting to see this museum for sometime, so we took the plunge and did it by plane from Stansted in a day. It was well worth it. I have read several books by and about Titanic survivors and was interested to see first hand the place where the ship was built and what it took to launch such a huge vessel. The museum is very impressive. Even when you see it from a distance you know what it is and it dominates the waterfront, in the same way the ship would have done. We chose to have an audio guide as it helps us focus on each exhibit, from the initial plans for the shape of Titanic to the letters written onboard the ship by the people who survived. It reminded me a bit of the 911 Museum which I saw last summer in NYC. Very tastefully done, very respectful in terms of the lives lost and also chronological, giving the history of Belfast as we went along. I found it all very moving, especially seeing the the poles outside from the window marking the slipways of both Titanic and Olympic. We also went aboard the Nomadic which has been lovingly restored and was the boat used to ferry passengers to the fated liner from Cherbourg. I know so much more now having seen the museum.
The only thing I was not a fan of was the photo opportunity at the end mimicking Jack and Rose from the Titanic film, but apart from this I thought the whole thing was stunning and showed real respect and also drew attention to lessons learned as well as the rich maritime history of Belfast.
We went end of March before the crowds begin.

Titanic experience Belfast - We have just visited the Titanic museum with my adult disabled cousin who is a real fan of the Titanic story. She said “This was the best day ever” and I would like to extend my thanks to the staff who were so considerate and helpful in making this fabulous experience.

5 stars - As a person who is already quite fascinated with the Titanic, this was the greatest museum in my life! Each gallery in the museum perfectly illustrates the building of the ship, the sinking, the discovery, all so well. The discovery tour we also went on was amazing. Our guide was quite nice and added more to my Titanic knowledge. This museum is also amazing for a couple of other reasons. All the books I read about the Titanic usually don’t mention Belfast until the construction on the ship begins. This museum focuses in on Belfast. If almost every book out there mentions the White Star Line and not Belfast, then the only thing you have to highlight is Belfast. I read every single word in the museum and every single cent paid was worth it. The SS Nomadic at the museum is stunning. It is amazing that this ship, which is over a hundred years old, has been restored to its former glory. The inside of the boat is amazing. I didn’t get to go onto the deck because it was raining but I knew a couple things you could do on the deck. You can actually turn the steering wheel and you can see how big the funnel was. The Titanic Museum now puts a handprint on my heart.

Amazing Tour Guide Sheila ; Fantastic Experience ; Extremely Helpful Staff ; Great Restaurant ; Would Go Again - Tour Guide Sheila amazing. I booked this in advance online. Whole experience very popular and well attended. You really need to allow half a day to see everything. I read it was recommended to allow 2.5 – 3 hours to do the exhibition. If you don’t want to stop & view everything then 2.5 – 3 hours is probably ok. It was quite busy when I went and was there for 4 hours. Would recommend guided tour for outside first and then indoor experience. Managed to see and stop in most areas but some sections were quite crowded. I booked the outside tour first at 11am. Tour Guide was Sheila. Really enthusiastic… clearly knew her onions… a local lass who loves what she does and was extremely knowledgeable. A credit to the Titanic Exhibition owners / organisers. I would highly recommend doing the tour first and then go round the exhibition. Tour was about an hour although Sheila gave us extra due to pesky questions being asked! Exhibition tour is self-guided although you can hire an audio guide (which I forgot to pick up!). It’s not really necessary as there’s plenty of information dotted around. So interesting and very well laid out. Especially poignant was seeing Wallace Hartley’s violin on display. Apparently has been one of, if not, the highest sold artefact from the Titanic. Would highly recommend anyone going to see this even if you know nothing about the Titanic & I'd definitely return for a second visit. Just made it in time to eat in the restaurant / café. Was very tasty with quite a lot of choice – had the Irish Stew and again, staff very helpful.

Mind-Blowing and Unforgettable – A Must-Visit in Belfast - The Titanic Experience was absolutely mind-blowing. It completely superseded my expectations. There was so much information, and it was presented in such an interactive and engaging way that I was hooked the whole time.
I loved how immersive it felt, especially with the incredible projection effects throughout the journey they really brought the story to life. There was so much to see, including actual remains and detailed exhibits that made everything feel very real and powerful.
One feature I really appreciated was being able to search for survivors’ names, which made the experience feel even more personal and emotional.
Hands down, the best experience in Belfast. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

Wonderful, creative experience! - I had high hopes, & they were surpassed. So much thought has gone into the design of this museum. It’s right to call it an ‘experience’. It is immersive & so creative. Parts feel like they have been put together by theatre designers. The lighting, music and set design were beautifully done. The room with the stories of those that died, & the survivors was especially moving. From here you descend a staircase as if to the ocean depths below, where there are artefacts retrieved from the wreck. There is a glass floor with video of the seabed making it seem as if you are under water. So much thought and storytelling has gone into the design.
My only caveat would be that it wasn’t particularly busy when we went. 3pm on a Sat in February. It was easy to see/read all the exhibits. If it had been busy, I think this would have detracted from the experience.
I came out feeling very moved. Visiting the gift shop seemed tacky after this experience.

Well researched and handled with sensitivity - A fascinatingly moving telling of the world’s most famous ship. I spent many hours there reading everything. Every story was handled with the knowledge that the names, photos and objects each represent a real person who experienced this tragedy.
Not only was the story of Titanic herself told but so was the story of the people of Belfast - the preceding history of the industries that supported the local economy. So much research and effort has been put in.
I did find that in a couple of places the timeline skipped a couple of things but nonetheless in most areas it flowed well. The ride was thoroughly immersive and it felt like I was actually in the dock.
The staff were great - easy to talk to and have in depth conversations with. I think out of all museums I’ve ever been to this is the first one where I genuinely got the sense that the staff truly care about the subject matter.
The penultimate gallery was very well done and incredibly thought provoking. I had a long chat with one of the staff members whilst there. I think there could’ve been a few more artefacts dotted around but recognise that due to the nature of the ship there are limited items to display, and I completely respect the ethos of not having anything that was actually taken from the wreck.
I have been fascinated by the story of Titanic for most of my life. It was a real honour to be able to see where Titanic spent the majority of her short life. That you to all involved for preserving the story for future generations like me.

Worth a visit - Busy but I wouldn't say overcrowded. Concentrates on the building of the Titanic rather than its eventual fate. 10 minute queue for the ride in the middle of the exhibition but worth the wait. I spent 2 hours going round quite briskly. If you wanted to read every panel of interpretation, you would need twice that. Staff available at some points to provide explanation and further information on the exhibits. My only issue was with a section where you are taken on a journey through the ship visually where the moving camerawork made me feel seasick and I had to go and sit down somewhere - authentic I suppose. I walked to the museum from central Belfast - took about 30 minutes but not a particularly interesting walk. You can pick up a hop on hop off bus quite near the entrance to the museum.

A great day out - Excellent exhibition and good value for money. The only thing I found peculiar was what Father Francis Brown was repeatedly referred to as Frank Browne.

Scarily overcrowded, ridiculous queues, very poorly managed, really disappointing! - We booked a few weeks ago for this. A Friday afternoon visit with two teen children. We actually flew to Belfast specifically to visit this attraction. To say we were disappointed is a huge understatement. It was incredibly busy. They let far too many people enter for each time slot. I actually checked online and could see that there was availability for most time slots still this afternoon. Shocking really. We waited on the ground floor for 10 minutes. Not too bad. Then the actual entrance, not too bad. The first sections of the exhibition were very busy, but tolerable. Then we entered a hugely crowded space, which after approx 20 minute we realised was a compulsory queue for a lift to the 4th floor. It was really hot, dark and we could not really hear the staff member ramble on (3 times before we actually got to the lift). It was so claustrophobic being held in that area and not knowing why or what we were queuing for and that type of thing does not usually bother me. Then we exit the lift and are told it’s an ‘at least 25 minute wait for the ride experience’. In the end we chose not to do it. Nothing to engage with whilst waiting in that queue. They said we could walk through and see some exhibits, but that was also really busy. We just forgot of there as quick as possible. Incredibly disappointing and really not worth the money. Maybe on a quiet day it would be ok. I don’t actually believe it was safe to have so many people crammed in like that. Clearly wanting to make money over visitor experience. Not only have we wasted the price of the Titanic tickets, but 2 nights in a hotel and flights.
