Big Ship, Bigger Day Out - If you’re in Belfast and fancy a day out that’s part history lesson, part art gallery, part engineering marvel, and part “Wow, I didn’t know that!”, then Titanic Belfast is your unsinkable option. (Too soon? Never in Belfast.)
Conveniently moored just a short hop from the city centre, the museum sits like a giant silver iceberg rising from the former shipyards – which feels both poetic and slightly cheeky. Parking? Sorted. There’s a handy underground car park right beneath the museum, which means you won’t have to trek through wind and rain while herding children like soggy sheep.
Inside, it’s a feast for the senses – and for inquisitive minds of all ages. You’ll find nine interactive galleries covering everything from Belfast’s industrial boom to the ship’s tragic maiden voyage. It’s a surprisingly fun way to teach the kids about a slice of history that’s not only global but deeply rooted in Northern Irish identity. There’s even a little ride (yes, a ride) through the shipbuilding process, which adds a bit of theme park magic without the smell of candyfloss and existential dread.
And it’s not just about boats and boilers. On my visit, the museum was also hosting an exhibition of Terry Bradley’s artwork – a bold, Belfast-born collection that added a splash of colour and grit to the already rich storytelling. It’s these kinds of unexpected extras that make you feel like you’ve definitely got your money’s worth.
Need a breather between fact absorption? There’s food and drink on site, with cafés offering everything from coffee and cake to more substantial fare – all served without the need to abandon ship.
One small warning: Titanic Belfast is no secret. It can get very busy, particularly on weekends and during school holidays when it feels like half the island has had the same idea. Booking online is not just recommended – it’s a survival tactic. Avoid the queues, secure your slot, and glide in like a seasoned sailor.
All in all, Titanic Belfast is an engaging, educational, and surprisingly entertaining way to spend a few hours. Whether you’re a history buff, a curious tourist, or a parent trying to convince your children that museums aren’t boring, this one delivers. Big time.
A must-see, a must-book, and a must-not-miss piece of Northern Irish heritage. Just maybe don’t shout, “I’m the king of the world” on the top deck… unless you’re fully committed.

Worth a visit - A must see! Had a great tour on a Monday.
Having the Nomadic in the next slip was special. But what made it best was Katelyn- the crew member who helped us enjoy the experience.

The Best Museum Experience You Will Ever Have! - The Titanic Experience/Museum is simply outstanding. Personally, I can sometimes get a bit tired of ‘museum’ type experiences. However, this was never the case here. The Titanic Experience is full of the most interesting and interactive displays, you are likely ever to see. It even includes a ride deep into the bowels of the Titanic, to experience the life and conditions of workers who put the ship together.
If you are in Belfast, this is a MUST visit!

A educational and informative visit - When booking, you need to specify your preferred time slot. We arrived quite early ally for ours, and so went went to the shop to buy souvenirs and collect out programme, and captain teddy.
When we presented our tickets, the lady advised us to put the stuff in a locker on a lower floor, so that we wouldn’t have to carry it around with us, which we did.
The tour was great, and really informative.
We enjoyed it all, including the ride through history.
In some places it became quite congested due to people lingering, but that is down to customers, not the attraction.
It took us about 90 minutes to walk around, and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we saw.
We will definitely return the next time we’re are in Belfast

Worth visiting - Interesting and definitely worth going. They have early bird tickets which we took advantage so it wasn't too busy whilst we were there. Very moving in parts

A Belfast must-do - Its really a must-do in Belfast, but you can tell because even at 9.30am entry on a workday it was still very busy, a bit too busy for comfort, to be honest.
Its definitely well done - I was wondering if a couple of bits could have been better. The sinking graphic is a bit weak, the dockyard ride they've obviously spent a lot on making it a state of the art ride - but given that I thought what you were actually looking at on the ride could have been better.
I think they could have done a more extensive effort at replicating a bit of the deck, rather than just a rail and a bench.
But then, there are some really good bits. The lessons learned section was engaging, and I liked the screens looking down to the wreck below.
Kids did the kids audioguide (£5 each) which kept them well engaged for over 2 hours. Recommended.

Wayyyy to crowded to be enjoyable - I can see how this would be a great experience if you went at a quiet time. However, we went on a Sunday afternoon as we only had Saturday and Sunday in Belfast. There were way too many people let in at the same time. There were queues to read everything and we missed out on doing some of the interactive things as there were just so many people waiting for them and a lot of poor kids who were obviously bored out of their minds using them. The cable car ride which lasts 6 minutes had a 45 minute queue so a lot of people skipped it. They should definitely put a cap on how many tickets they sell per hour, it would make it such a better experience for all. The amounts they're letting in just screams hungry for as much money as possible. Not worth 25 pound each at all!

Big dud - I really was looking forward to this exhibit but regretted going.
It was very crowded so we could not hear the displays
The interactive ride had a forty minute wait so we skipped it
The first few floors are boring
The top couple floors were interesting
The whole place was way too loud and dark
