Great tour; Thank you, Kenton - We had an amazing time! Our guide was patient and knowledgeable about all things Belize. He made sure we felt safe and maximized our enjoyment of the tour, even though none of us knew how to swim. I would definitely recommend Kenton.

Gorgeous caves with refreshing waters! - Jimmy was awesome! Ensured we arrived back to the cruise port with plenty of time to spare. Warning: it is an hour drive to and from the caves for tubing but was definitely worth it. Once you arrive, be sure to have crocs or water shoes, etc. to walk the trail to enter the caves.

Tubing excursion from cruise - Our guide Kenton was waiting for us exactly as planned. He provided great information about Belize and the caves. The walk to the river entrance had a lot of wildlife. Wear sturdy shoes that can get wet and be prepared for the walk to the starting point. If you do this excursion, I hope you'll have Kenton as your guide.

Great Experience - After a one hour WELL NARRATED drive to our destination, we took a half hour nature walk, also fully narrated. The group entered the water with our tunes and began the tube ride into the cave. The ride was slow and relaxing, and with our helmet lamps, the rock formations made for beautiful viewing. Two recommendations: First, pay the extra 5 dollars to not have to carry your tube on the walk. Second, wear either a thick soled water shoe or other waterproof (or washable) shoes.

Really fun! - They require Crocs and make you rent them if you do not have them. Not even Tivas accepted. Other than that it was really fun! Great guide!

Someone at 5 Star River tubing stole our money - Beware of 5 Star Cave Tubing. there was over $650 stolen from 3 different passengers while we were on our river tube. Our driver was Manuel. He assured us repeatedly that our belongings were safe with him while we were in the river. He said his van was our locker and that he is the only one that had the keys. Over and over he told us how safe our items were. As soon as we got back we checkd pour items preparing for lunch. Alarmingly I discovered that $200 was taken from down in my backpack. Then 2 other passengers checked and found that one had $300 taken and my son had his entire wallet cleaned out of $150. They also took my ship medallion (I’m sure just to get the holder it was in). When we brought it to the attention of our tour guide Manuel he denied that it was possible that he had the key the whole time. We subsequently found out that he never had the keys and that they were hung up on a pegboard type place out in public and that at least one other person had been in the van while we were in the river. But off course nobody knew anything about the missing money. We demanded the police be called and that’s when Mr Miles comes into the picture. This whole situation was reported to “Mr Miles” who is the company owner. He agreed to repay us half of what was stolen if we didn’t report it to the police. Of course we said no way. I’m hoping that the situations we experienced will keep others from going through the same. We later found out that this has happened before. That was told to me by another tour guide at the river and then when we got back to Belize City by one of the police officers. Fast forward. The tubing was ok at best. The cave was beautiful but if you are expecting anything but having 14 tubes tethered together so tightly that my feet were all over the top of the tube I was tired to. It was not good. Never were we all not tied together but we were instructed that were could take our helmets and life jackets off and get into the water as we were heading to get out of the river. Due to the above stated issues we did not get anything to eat or drink and on the way back to the port our driver Manuel was driving so recklessly that we had to yell at him to slow down. We were supposed to meet the police again when we got back to the port. This whole situation was reported to “Mr Miles” again while with the policemen . I’m hoping that the situations we experienced will keep others from going through the same. It certainly seems like a pretty slick scam to be pulling on tourists. I’m not sure how far up the line the theft scam goes but it’s obviously not just our driver. Beware. Think about booking something else. Do not trust 5 star river tubing. There are many other tours that want your business. Lastly Big John who was represented as in charge of the tour operation at the terminal in doing his “investigation” of what happened asked us if we had shown anyone with the tour how much money we had in our wallets before we reported the theft. He wanted to know how he knew that we had the money in the first place. Manuel went do far as to say that he had seen inside one of the men’s wallets when asking for change for a $100 bill and that he only had one in there. Seriously. Who looks inside someone’s wallet when asking how to get change for an tip unless you might be planning to share the information with someone. I don’t have a clue for sure who stole from us but I know 100% that someone did.
