From the parking area, the journey continues to El Castillo, one of the three largest Maya Temples in Belize and the tallest structure at this site, rising 130 feet above the plaza level. Climbing to the top offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area. El Castillo is notable for its series of stucco friezes on the exterior, depicting stories and events from Maya mythology.
- San Ignacio - Lunch will be enjoyed at Hode’s Place, renowned as one of the best local restaurants in San Ignacio Town.
- Blue Hole National Park - The tour begins with a 5-minute walk from the parking lot down some stairs to the Blue Hole cenote. Visitors can enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pool, take photographs, or experience the Belizean rainforest.
The inland Blue Hole (cenote) is located at the Blue Hole National Park on the Hummingbird Highway. It was created by the collapse of an underground limestone cave. The river that originally flowed through the cavern still runs through the cave system, forming a sapphire-colored pool at the bottom of the sinkhole. The depression is approximately 100 feet deep and 300 feet in diameter, with the actual blue hole at the base of the depression having a depth of about 25 feet.
