• Ian Anderson’s Caves Branch Adventure Co - The River Cave Tubing Expedition offers a unique experience that goes beyond just “cave tubing.” It combines hiking and exploration with tubing through significant sections of a single ceremonial cave used by the ancient Maya.

This underground journey takes adventurers off the beaten path to discover ancient Mayan ceremonial centers, pottery, artifacts, altars, obsidian bloodletting blades, jade, and the actual footprints of shamans and priests dating back to 400 A.D.

For lunch, guides will prepare an underground riverside picnic complete with a picnic blanket, tortillas with cold cuts, juice, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Enjoying lunch by headlamp, to the sounds of the underground caves while conversing with fellow adventurers, will be an unforgettable experience.

REQUIRED DRESS CODE: Shorts, T-shirts, and well-threaded tennis or hiking boots. (TEVAS, KEENS, or sandals of any kind are NOT PERMITTED FOR SAFETY REASONS).
