Bundala National Park is situated in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka, part of a vast network of national parks and sanctuaries along the Southern - Southeastern coast. From May to July, these habitats become vital nesting and breeding grounds for thousands of migratory birds. This ecological haven boasts nearly 400 plant species, approximately 200 bird species - 58 of which are migratory, 32 mammal species, 48 reptile species, 15 amphibian species, 32 fish species, and 52 butterfly species.
