Nine Arches Bridge - The Nine Arch Bridge, also called as the Bridge in the Sky, is a bridge in Sri LankaLocally it is known as ‘Ahas Namaye Palama’ meaning nine skies bridge in Sinhala. The name derives from the visual experience. . It is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country.The construction of the bridge is generally attributed to a local Ceylonese builder, P. K. Appuhami, in consultation with British engineers.
Commissioned under the British in the year 1921, the Nine Arch Bridge stands proudly, a testament to the engineering and architectural brilliance of the early 20th century. Ideally placed between the Ella and Demodara railway station, those choosing to walk along the bridge will be presented with scenes of rolling hills and dense jungle to delight in. - Little Adam’s Peak View Point - Named after its resemblance to the iconic Adam’s Peak/Sri Pada, Little Adam’s Peak is its smaller brother and a must-visit when in Ella. The hike to the top of Little Adam’s Peak is fairly easy; the peak is 1141m high.It is also incredibly easy to find the path to Little Adam’s Peak since it is clearly marked.
- Rawana Falls - This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in height and cascades from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall turns into what is said to resemble an areca flower with withering petals. But this is not the case in the dry season, where the flow of water reduces dramatically. The falls form part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, and is located 6 km (3.7 mi) away from the local railway station at Ella.

Must do day trip to Ella - some amazing sightseeing & experiences of Sri Lanka - We absolutely loved it! - My friends and I had the most amazing day trip to Ella. We were staying at Ahanagama and the driver picked us up at 4am from our door and it took about 2.5hrs to get there. Make sure you ask your accommodation for a breaky travel pack and they will organise this for you.
We stopped at the Waterfall and it was stunning and some photos with the Monkeys before we set off to Little Adams peak. Our driver Rahul was amazing always letting us know where we were going next and always accommodated for bathroom breaks along the way. We then did the train ride, a tea plantation and then back to Nine Archers where the train stops this time, this whole day/experience was truly unreal and well worth the trip to experience a different part of Sri Lanka.
Our lunch was beautiful and we got to see the local markets from where we ate. Rahul pointed out different wildlife along the way.
This day trip is a must and my friends and I were the only ones on it. Thanks again guys, the whole process was seamless from start to finish.

Ella day trip - Our second trip of the holiday with this company .
We requested the same driver and Dinesh did not disappoint . He was lovely and looked after us very well .
Another early start being picked up at 4am from our hotel . We managed to beat a lot of the crowds .
Highlight of the trip was the train trip over 9 arches bridge .
Little Adams peak was a bit much for me but managed half way and waited for my husband who got to the top
Tuk tuk driver was also great and got us to where we needed to be . The steps down to 9 arches bridge were also quite steep , especially coming back up and I felt a little rushed as we didn’t want to miss the train .
I was looking for an elephant gift for our new grandchild but unable to find one on our trip . On our last morning we got a message that Dinesh wanted us to meet him in reception . He had bought me a cloth elephant and wouldn’t accept any payment . Such a lovely gesture .
I would definitely recommend this company and especially Dinesh

Excellent travel company - absolute first class service do not hesitate to book with them. - We booked 2 trips with Bentota Travel Mart whilst still in the UK before our holiday, and through Trip Advisor.. Communication with Sam in the Bentota Office was first class, personal transport and drivers excellent, time keeping excellent, and the day trips, (whilst long and tiring days) were absolutely superb. Updates and confirmation / details of your trip sent to your phone up to the day before the frip
There is always a bit of a doubt when booking trips from home as to whether things will work ou OK - have no doubt, Bentota Travel Mart are smart and superb in everything they did. Well done guys - I cannot fault you. We'll certainly use them again when back in Bentota.
For info we did the 1 day Elle trip, and the 1 day trekking in the rain forest, the latter excellent but tiring walking for 4.5 hours in the heat and humidity of the rain forest, but the guide was superb, amazing all the wildlife, flora and fauna he spotted and identified.

Fantastic tour - We were picked up on time at the hotel by our guide/driver R.. The car was clean and the driver was totally nice and very helpful. We drove to the waterfall. Not many people arrived there at about 06:40. Then we drove on and changed to a TukTuk. With these we drove towards Nine Arches Bridge, so we only had to walk a few stairs and a bit on the tracks to the bridge. The driver waited for us and then took us to Little Adams Peak. Since we had to record about 20 min walk/stairs. It was totally pleasant at about 8am as not many people were travelling. Again, collecting with the TukTuk drivers worked out well. Afterwards we went back into the car to drive to the train station. The driver gave us water and showed us some things. He accompanied us on the train and told us when to get off. The train ride was super nice and very exciting in first class. It was totally relaxed and we had a door to lean out for two of us. Once at the destination station, the driver received us at the track and inquired about our well-being. Then we went to a tea factory, which was interesting to look at. Afterwards, we went back to Ella where we could have our lunch (buffet).
We have come back safe and had a nice day!

Amazing - Superb Tour. Great communication from Sami beforehand. Ishan was our driver and guide for the day. Very friendly and professional. Explained local landmarks, stopped for photos, and generally looked after us really well. Met us straight off the train. The waterfall, Little Adams Peak, the train ride and the tea factory all amazing. The lunch also fantastic in a quality restaurant. No short comings here. Highly recommend

Tip top - All perfect. You skip the crowd at each attraction. The early wake up is worth it, and you’re back during the afternoon. Dinesh the driver is very engaged and very forward looking.

Go early - Go early, we were at Nine arch Bridge at 07.20 , not many people about, our Tuk Tuk driver took some great photos of us, again early at Little Adam’s peak at around 08.00 , no one around, it’s about an hour’s hike up many stairs
Took the train from Demodara to Haputale, best views are if you sit on the right side of the train. Between Demodara and Ella our carriage was quite empty, so took loads of photos going over Nine Arch’s from various windows.
As we drove from Haputale to Ella our driver point out Monkeys living in the trees by the road near Ravana Ella wildlife Sanctuary .
It’s a long tiring day but well worth it

Ella day trip with train ride and tea mountains - What an amazing day this was would highly recommend booking this day trip Sam from Bentoa travel so to all of our needs and was excellent with answering questions in any communications that was needed on the day our driver was Ishan He was prompted on time kind and friendly and sort it all of our needs. He was very knowledgeable told us all about the area and answered any questions we asked. We fully enjoyed the whole day. It was well planned in a day for Live amazing memories.

Unforgettable and very well organised - We booked this very easily online through TripAdviser. Within minutes Sam contacted us with full details of the journey and requesting further information. It was reassuring to have such a rapid response. The driver, Dinesh was extremely professional and helpful and everything went according to plan.
This is a great one day trip and a memorable experience. I can’t recommend Bentota Travel highly enough.

1st class experience - Although an early start (4am) it was worth it. We were given all of the information about our trip via WhatsApp the day before, this was easy to follow and everything went according to schedule. Although we did decided not to go to the tea factors as we were shattered. Although it says it is not strenuous my husband and I are both in our 60's and found the steps down and back up at nine arches bridge and the climb to Little Adams Peak quite taxing.
