- Windsor Castle - As a royal residence, Windsor Castle serves as one of the homes of His Majesty King Charles III. With nearly a thousand years of history, it offers a rich tapestry of art and architecture to explore.
Your guide will meet you on Castle Hill, just outside the Henry VIII Gate, and will escort you through the castle entrance, ticket office, and security.
Once inside the castle walls, Sarah will lead you through the castle precincts. First, you’ll visit the Middle Ward, where you’ll pass by the renowned Round Tower. If the Royal Standard is flying from the top, it indicates that the King is in residence.
Next, you’ll proceed to the upper walkway, offering breathtaking views of the River Thames and Eton, including the famous Eton College, where Princes William and Harry were educated.
- Windsor Castle - After exploring the Castle Wards, our guide will accompany you into the State Apartments.
The first stop will be the renowned Queen Mary’s Dolls House, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Our guide will then walk with you through the State Apartments, where you’ll tread the same paths as past Kings, Queens, and State dignitaries. You’ll explore both the King’s and Queen’s State Chambers, including the Waterloo Chamber, St George’s Hall, and the Grand Reception Room, where you’ll admire famous artwork, paintings, tapestries, and furniture from the Royal Collection.
Guiding large groups is not allowed, which is why we only accept bookings for small, intimate private groups. As an accredited Windsor Castle guide, Sarah is authorized to walk you through the State Apartments, highlighting items of interest and answering any questions you may have.
Photography is not permitted within the State Apartments.
- St. George’s Chapel - Finally, we will visit the 15th-century St George’s Chapel, home to the esteemed Order of the Garter, the oldest order of chivalry in the world.
Entrance to the Chapel is included in the Windsor Castle entrance fee. We will pass by the George VI Chapel, where Queen Elizabeth II is laid to rest alongside her father, husband, mother, and sister: King George VI, Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and Princess Margaret.
Please note, as a working chapel, St George’s Chapel is NOT open on Sundays.
Photography is not permitted within the Chapel.
The tour will last three hours in total and will conclude back at the starting point, the Henry VIII Gate.
