Betty’s Bay - Departing from Cape Town at 8am, the journey follows the Whale Coast Route to Betty’s Bay, where African penguins can be observed. Betty’s Bay is a quaint coastal town in South Africa’s Western Cape province, home to a colony of African Penguins, also known as Jackass Penguins, the only penguin species native to Africa. Known as Stony Point Penguin Colony, Betty’s Bay hosts a large population of these penguins, which can be seen waddling, swimming, and nesting in the nearby vegetation.
Hermanus - From Betty’s Bay, the trip continues for another 30 minutes to Hermanus, renowned as the whale watching capital of the world. Hermanus is a picturesque coastal town in the Western Cape province, celebrated for its natural beauty, whale watching opportunities, and charming small-town vibe. It is one of the premier locations for land-based whale watching. From June to December, southern right whales visit the shores, allowing visitors to admire these magnificent creatures from the town’s cliffs and beaches.
