Anniversary Vacation - Overall enjoyed riding the bus to see LA, specially Hollywood Blvd & Santa Monica Pier. We ejoyed the red bus line & yellow bus line the most, we didn't care for the purple bus line riding to downtown LA. The head phones didn't work most of the time & if it did it would talk about things that we had already passed or you couldn't find what the recording was referring to. The driver wasn't very clear on what we needed to do to hear on our phones. The bus was hot downstairs, we had to sit downstairs because my husband rides a scooter. We didn't ride the blue bus line. We enjoyed Robert on the red bus line, he was real helpful with helping my husband if he needed it & he loves explaining the route, making you know what stop is coming up so you don't miss it.

Better than walking - Purchased 48 hours. First day cancelled but able to add a day. No wait time. Buses almost empty each time. Buses arrived on time. Automated commentary was out of sync on several occasions, making it difficult to be ready to take photos. Pamphlets route and numbers didn't match audio making it confusing as to where to get off the bus.

Not worth the price for a one-day pass - Was frustrated with this tour because of the long wait times between too few buses. We were not able to get off at any stops to explore more because there wasn’t enough time in one day. We waited over an hour for the first bus and then wouldn’t have had time to get back to our starting point if we had gotten off at any stops and had to wait another 45 minutes for the next bus. On board the bus, the audio was very poor, crackling a lot and many words cut out. Also long stretches of the ride had no audio so it got boring. I can’t believe there wouldn’t have been SOMETHING to mention along the way!

Not the best hop-on hop--off for the BIG $$$ - Red line was great, driver had a wonderful personality and pointed out points of interest. He stopped at every stop. Yellow line was horrible. Driver did not stop at any stops, did not announce the one stop he stopped at (Venice Beach). We walked to Santa Monica pier because no yellow line bus came back at assigned time. Other tourists waited 1.5 hours for a bus after scheduled time bus did not show up. Tourguide Radio (headset) did not point out very good points of interest or she was late in pointing them out. Way too expensive for the tour.

Think about it first. - It is great in theory but be warned that there is a ton of waiting around. I know it’s off season and I do understand traffic but the amount of time we spent waiting on the next bus made us wish we did something else. Could be waiting an hour and there is no way even in the app to track where the next bus is. The best you get is an estimate of > 30 minutes but that could change. We missed things we wanted to see because we could not risk missing the bus. One of our drivers was super friendly. It was cold and rainy and so was the bus! Saw more buses with other companies. Maybe book the official timed tour

Misleading schedule and poor communication - According to the printed timetable in their brochure, the last Hop-On Hop-Off bus is listed at 6:00 PM. We boarded the bus at 4:40 PM, fully expecting a normal route based on that schedule. Instead, the driver told us this was the last bus of the day and that it was going straight back to the garage, not following the advertised route. This is extremely misleading. If the last bus shown on the schedule does not complete the route, this must be clearly stated. Otherwise, passengers are left stranded and unable to plan their day properly. Hop-On Hop-Off buses are supposed to be about flexibility and convenience. This experience was neither. Poor communication and inaccurate schedules seriously hurt the value of the service.

Sloppy information - The pick up location in downtown Los Angeles is non existent. I had to get an Uber ride to Hollywood.

Terrible tour - Did the Hollywood loop as an add on to the City Pass. Tour was a waste of time. Pre-recorded audio tour that didn't always even correspond to where we were. Driver talked over the pre-recorded tour numerous times when we would get to a stop as they didn't seemed to be synced. Couldn't see or find many of the things the tour was talking about but then many of the things mentioned weren't even of interest. Don't waste your time or money on this one.
