Great Way To See The Sights - We've been on Big Bus tours in many cities, and it's a great way to get around and see the sights. The concept of hop-on / hop-off at any stop is fantastic, enabling you to just get off at any place you'd like to visit or explore, and then get back onto the next bus on the route. In our case we visited Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach, both of which were well worth seeing.

Relaxing and Adventurous! - This is a great opportunity for large groups who want to explore various tourist destinations in LA without the hassle of having to pay for parking (parking gets expensive in LA). Just sit back and relax with your folks, enjoy the ride through the beach scenery, exploring Santa Monica and the Hollywood scenes, such as Ripley's, the Walk of Fame, etc. There's something for everyone. We did the 48-hour tour -we tried to do it in one day, which I wouldn't suggest. Do the beach tour one day, so you're not rushing to visit and enjoy the other attractions. Do the Hollywood tour another day because there's a lot to see. The ride itself is just relaxing. I gave it four stars because, unlike the Big Bus tour in other states, the LA tour doesn't provide a real-life tour guide. The tour guides can make great suggestions for restaurants and other attractions that may not be mentioned in the handout. You are provided with a pair of free earphones to listen to a pre-recorded tour guide. However, it's not in sync with the drive. Their representatives located at the hop-on, hop-off stops were great! Shout to Beatriz (or Beatrice, I am sorry if I misspelled your name), Logan, and Tre! Ya'll were great!

Overpriced and disappointing - Our whole bus had issues with the recordings freezing and/or being skipped. The driver was aware of the issues and yet couldn't resolve them. Furthermore we nearly missed a stop as the the bus driver didn't announce the stop name in lieu of the recording and there is no signage at each stop. Extremely disappointing and given this tour is 60USD per person (a more expensive one in LA). it's a pretty poor experience.

Not your typical Hop On Hop Off - I want to start by saying that I have done many hop on hop offs, London, Boston, New York City, Etc. All of them have been spectacular and I have even used the Big Bus Company before. That being said, here is why I rated this one a waste of money and time. We got off to a bad first experience. As I was scanning the code on the kiosk a worker said that he could just help us. Looked at the 5 people in my family and said, yes, you have all adults. I said, I don’t know the prices but one of the boys was a minor. The worker said no, he’s taller than me, he’s an adult. My fault, I should have looked to see if it mattered if he was under 18 or not for price. I said several times that he was not 18 and they just kept saying no no sorry, he’s taller than me. Hard to argue when they are under 18 because they don’t have an ID to prove it. I should have bailed out and gone to a different company. At this point I didn’t even know if being under 18 was a different price. So, paid for 5 adults whether I should have or not. Wish I had bailed out at this moment. Next up, this is nothing like any other hop on hop off. No live commentary from the driver. The driver doesn’t even talk to you. No fun antics or personal stories. Instead, headphones that are not even in sync with your tour. Sometimes it is too far ahead of where you are and sometimes you have already passed. Also, no indication of stops coming up or when you are there except a quick something on the headphones, so don’t miss it. Most of the time you are just listening to music. Not enough material, I guess, to talk about as you sit in traffic. We were also diverted and on the headphones it said that we had been diverted without explanation. We didn’t get to see several sites including Paramount. Just played music until we got back on track. Lastly, when we left the bus they asked for the headphones back in the bin. This grossed me out as this is where we got our headphones from when we entered the bus. No indication that they were cleaned. My advice is to look up a phone tour that you can take yourself. You will save yourself a bunch of money, same traffic, and will learn a lot more than you will from the bus. I will ask a lot of questions before my next hop on hop off. I still will not give up on them but if this had been my first experience it probably would have been my last. Good luck in Los Angeles

Not recommended - I cannot express myself in a positive way, unfortunately. The Bus is a typical service offered in many cities around the world to visit typical places in the area. In this case you wanted to visit the part of Los Angeles between Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the surrounding area but the journey was more tiring than interesting. Starting from the fact that the cost is absolutely disproportionate to the service, it must be said that the only languages available were English, Spanish or Chinese. Absurd for a service that should offer a vast array of multicultural languages. Unfortunately I must say that I would not recommend it but, perhaps, better to visit the area on foot.
