Snowy escapade on Bursa - It was surprising to see that the snow was still so thick in mid april. Took wonderful pictures with the snowy background... if you are looking for something different outside of the hustle and bustle of Istanbul, this was it. Thank you Eric for recommending.

“Our tour was absolutely... - “Our tour was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! The itinerary was well-planned, allowing us to see all the highlights while still having time to explore at our own pace. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, sharing fascinating stories and insights that made every stop even more memorable. The transportation was comfortable, and everything was organized seamlessly. We also loved the local recommendations for food and shopping. This tour exceeded our expectations in every way, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience. Thank you for an amazing adventure!”

First time in snow and was an amazing experience! - Took a one-day tour from Klook to Bursa & Uludağ Ski Resort (14 hours). Cost: 1.1M IDR for two people (free for babies). The tour included a cable car ride to Bursa city center. If you want to go to the top of the snowy mountain, the chairlift costs ₺500.

Worst experience of my life! - This was the second time I booked a Bursa tour while visiting Turkey. First time I came with my family in 2021 and had an amazing time ( we booked through a local travel agency). This time I came with a couple of my friends, to whom I had highly recommended the similar itinerary as provided by Trip Advisor. A complete disappointment this time around! We waited for an hour for our ride to pick us up from our hotel ( we all can understand the delay because of the traffic in Istanbul), but what came later was a complete surprise for us. Instead of the ferry ride that was mentioned, we were taken to an ATV safari which most us had not paid for and was not mentioned in our itinerary. Most of us had no idea about such an activity. We had to wait for one hour and 20 minutes for the ATV riders to come back. Later they made a couple of more stops, such as the Turkish delight factory ( that was mentioned and hence expected), but the next stop at the jams store was not mentioned either. By the time we were taken to a restaurant for lunch, it was almost 4pm. They skipped the 600 year old tree stop ( one of the major highlights like the ferry ride). We had to wait for 45-50 minutes for at the chair lift place ( again not an included activity in our ticket). We literally had to rush to catch the cable car, because only 9 minutes were left for it to stop for the day. My friend also tripped while rushing out of the bus. Thank God she didn’t get hurt badly. We reached Bursa’s Green Mosque and Silk bazaar at 7pm and were given 45 minutes to look around. Very disappointing for almost everyone on the bus! Our guide told us that if we take the ferry back it would take us 1 hour extra because of which we all decided to just go straight to Istanbul by road. If we ever come back again, I know I would not book such an activity through Trip Advisor, rather contact a local travel agency on my own. I would like to request a refund of my money. It was a complete waste of one full day which we could have utilized elsewhere.

Not As Described - Istanbul Day Tours is a reseller not a tour provider. This "Bursa Full Day Tour from Istanbul with cable car ride" is not as described and was very poor. The description indicated a day in the old capital of Bursa with lunch, a cable car ride and shopping opportunities. Our tour yesterday: Stop 1: More than one hour at a tacky "safari park" with two options, pay dearly to ride small motorised vehicles around a rough track swallowing the dust of the vehicle in front or sit in a cafe and pay dearly for refreshments. Stop 2: Forty-five minutes at a lolly shop. Stop 3: Thirty minutes at a jam shop. Stop 4: Lunch, grilled chicken, fatty meatballs, salad, sweet fizzy drinks or liquid yoghurt. Side dishes offered and charged for at the end of the meal. Stop 5: One hour either riding a chair lift at additional cost or sitting in a cafe. Stop 6: Cable car ride at last, something as described! Stop7: At 5.10pm we reached the old town of Bursa just in time to wait for prayers to finish before entering the mosque. All aboard the coach for the return trip by 5.45pm. We had a nice drive through the suburbs of Istanbul and saw a little of the countryside. We would have seen and enjoyed more if the bus windows were clean. We did not have the expected morning ferry ride but did return by ferry across the tip of the Sea of Mamara. There was no commentary from the guide about the region, the industries, the history, apart from a two minute recital about the first two leaders of the Ottomans. He pronounced himself unable to answer our questions about the region. When we reached Bursa he offered no information about the mosque or tomb, just lit another cigarette and walked off. I was past asking and I expect wikipedia will tell me more than the guide. When we reached Istanbul the guide left the bus before we returned to the starting point, outside Grafic Travel in Taksim. This left our driver, a very competent driver but with little English, to navigate the large bus through the narrow streets to return guests to several hotels. We covered the same route twice before he found our drop off point. Four guests still on the bus. We were ready for pick-up at 8am, we dropped off near our hotel at 9.30pm. Fortunately, we were several days in the area and could find our way home. If you use Istanbul Day Tours, do check carefully that there are no rubbishy extras to the tour you select.

Don’t waste a day - I definitely would not do this tour we felt like we were in prison as we couldn’t walk away. The guide kept stopping at these shops along the way which really had nothing different from Istanbul. We would stop and get hounded immediately by aggressive salespeople. It was miserable. Then at the end we waited for the guide to shamelessly gather his commission. The guide talked very little to the group and did not tell us too many facts about the region or what we were seeing. We did not get do the ride up the mountain in the cable car as promised or we did not get to tour the green mosque. The guide did not give us much information on it either as he was too worried about gathering commissions rather than telling us about the mosque. We couldn’t go inside as he had timed it poorly to coincide with prayer. I also felt they should have known the lift was closed and offered an alternative activity. I have done many Viator tours and this is the only one that I had a negative experience with.

Awful, no recommended at all. - At the outset, just let me say that the guide was helpful and cooperative, but the bus driver was one of the most obnoxious persons that I have come across. We were picked up from our hotel at 8.15 AM. It was basically a 9-10 hour tour which was unnecessarily extended to become a 15 hour tour, just because of excessively unnecessary stops at shops selling turkish sweets, jams, silk clothing etc. I understand stopping for activities, so that the ones who are interested may get down and do the activity, and the ones not interested can stay behind and wait in a cafe. But stopping at so many shops every 20 mins is a hassle for the passengers and purely for marketing and commission purposes. The lunch was more like a snack with the quantity being extremely less. I got 3 small pieces of potato, and when I asked for more, they said it's chargeable. The guide was helpful, but the whole tour was so rushed up because of so many unnecessary stops, that half the time he kept saying hurry up to all the passengers. Also, there was hardly any information given about bursa as a city. All in all it was a poorly designed promotional tour for shops selling their products with some activities here and there. By the time we reached the hotel, it was 1145, and we were struggling to find some dinner. Now, the cherry on top. The bus driver, at the last moment, dropped us off at the company office and refused to take us to our hotel which was around 750 metres from the office. The guide kept fighting with him to drops us off to our hotel, but the driver was adamant. Now 750 metres doesn't sound much, but this distance that we had to walk back home, was not on road, but via the stairs (it's the old town of turkey, so no flat roads, only stairs), which were covered in snow, with a 2 year old in my lap, and the luggage and the stroller in my wife's hand, using Google maps at 12 o clock at night trying to find the hotel. Probably one of my worst experiences of using viator in the last 5 years.
