Before proceeding to the tasting, there will be an introduction to the fundamentals of proper wine tasting, particularly beneficial for those new to organized tastings. For more experienced attendees, in-depth questions about the wine regions, grape varieties, and terroir are welcome.
The tasting includes four local wines paired with cheese and bread, each wine progressively increasing in intensity, offering a journey through various parts of the country. The second part of the experience introduces rakia, with tastings of two local varieties. This potent fruit brandy is a cherished traditional drink not only in Bulgaria but throughout the entire Balkan Peninsula.

During this 2-hour exploration of Bulgarian culture, participants will discover over 3,000 years of wine and rakia-making traditions. A local host will lead you through five local wine varieties and the Balkans’ most iconic drink - rakia - expertly paired with traditional snacks.
