- Glanni Waterfall - Begin your journey at Bifröst in West Iceland, a name familiar from Norse mythology. Here, visit the Glanni waterfall, which adds a mythical ambiance to what is often considered the boundary between the human and divine realms. The waterfall cascades in multiple steps over the ancient lava fields of Grábrókarhraun. While admiring Glanni, enjoy a clear view of the three Grábrók volcanic craters rising above the fields.
- Deildartunguhver Thermal Spring - Deildartunguhver is the first attraction on the tour, known as the most powerful hot spring in Europe. It is so potent that it supplies hot water and energy to locals for miles around. After exploring the steaming vapors at Deildartunguhver, the tour continues to Hraunfossar, also called the “Lava Waterfalls.”
- Sturlureykir Horses/Visiting Horse Farm - Experience an unforgettable visit to the Sturlureykir Icelandic horse farm. Get up close to these beautiful, friendly animals and enjoy homemade “hot spring bread,” known as rugbraud in Icelandic, with a nice cup of coffee or ice-cold water.
- Reykholt - The final stop is Reykholt, once the medieval home of Snorri Sturluson, a renowned Icelandic historian and chieftain. Discover Snorralaug (Snorri’s Pool), another traditional natural hot spring where locals have bathed since the 12th century. From there, return to the capital city after a day of wonder and exploration in the wilds of West Iceland.
- Hraunfossar - Hraunfossar is a majestic waterfall stretching nearly a kilometer over ancient lava fields, with meltwater from the Langjokull glacier flowing into the Hvita river, visible from several viewing platforms.
- Barnafoss - Nearby is Barnafoss, also known as “the waterfall of the children,” named after a tragic incident where two local children fell from a stone bridge into the waters. The grieving mother had the bridge destroyed to prevent similar tragedies.
- Husafell - The next stop is Husafell, a stunning woodland oasis and historical site featuring traditional turf houses and “elf huts” to delight children. View intriguing works by local artists and the famous “Lifting Stone of Husafell.” From Husafell, travel in 4WD vehicles further inland to Deildargil Canyon to see Langifoss, a towering two-tiered waterfall. Langifoss is a hidden gem, not marked on many maps, making it a special treat.
- Husafell Canyon Baths - The highlight of the tour is the Canyon Baths, an enchanting and exclusive experience featuring a traditional Icelandic hotpot deep in the magnificent Hringsgil canyon. Three geothermally-heated stone pools of varying temperatures (30-41°C or 86-105°F) are built here, along with a cold-water pot and a cooling waterfall, using traditional methods and materials. The Canyon Baths offer a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, accommodating no more than twenty visitors at a time. Sustainably constructed in a remote location, it’s a wonderful place to relax and unwind, imagining the early settlers bathing in the same way. Situated in a protected natural environment, no soaps are allowed in the showers, but guests can use the facilities at Husafell for free. Bathing shoes and towels are provided.

Serene tour of lesser visited sites - This tour takes in some stunning but often overlooked sites. Firstly, a magnificent waterfall, with sunrise enhancing its beauty. Then an unhurried visit to a lovely
Icelandic horse farm; and an opportunity to meander with them in the fields. Then to an even more astonishing set of waterfalls - lovely little walk around these to the various viewing platforms. And the day ended with a gorgeous afternoon bath in the canyon baths (which I had to myself - incredible) but even at peak only accept 20 people so never busy. Nestled in a deep canyon, these baths are small but stunning - and very civilised with changing rooms and a small bar for a glass of wine! This was my favourite tour in Iceland. It felt authentic, off the beaten track and I saw some of the most gorgeous scenery of all. Guide was educational but not overbearing - knew how to balance information with a bit of quiet time/music to enjoy the scenery. Loved it. Highly recommend

Can’t recommend enough! - This was an unbelievably beautiful tour, led by an experienced, witty and knowledgeable guide, Thormodur. We got to see amazing landscapes, visit a horse farm, and bathe in hot baths (very private and remote!) in the most incredible canyon.
Can’t recommend enough.

Canyon Baths worth the hike - We had been on another tour company before this one (both equally good - we recommend smaller groups) but we enjoyed our guide Monica, who was very personable and fun. We ended up visiting a few more sites than what was on the itinerary because we were the only ones going to the Canyon Baths. Canyon Baths were the highlight of the tour - super relaxing and secluded, highly recommend
