Best tour my family and I have had - hands down - I just went on the big island tour in Hawaii today with my three college aged children and we had the absolute best time from the moment we were picked up at our hotel at exactly 7 AM until we were dropped off 10 hours later. Our tour guide Kevin Hastings was hands-down, the best tour guide I have ever had. He was smart and funny and engaging and passionate and could explain things so clearly everyone in my tour , even my kids, were commenting on how great he was. We saw black sand beaches, a volcano erupt , beautiful waterfalls and overlooks. We were given lunch and even snacks and water after each stop. It was informative, fun and beautiful. I highly recommend embarking upon this very long day with this amazing company ask for Kevin. He was great.

Outstanding Big Island in a Day Tour, Best tour guide ever! - We thoroughly enjoyed this all day tour and our tour guide, Dreu Basaldua, who was very knowledgeable, creative, and sensitive to the needs of our 13 person tour group. Dreu was easily the best tour guide we have every had in our many years of visiting Hawaii. He kept us engaged and he made the trip enjoyable with his sense of humor and sincere interest in meeting our needs.

Great way to see the Big Island - This was a great way to see the Big Island. We were able to stand in an active volcano crater and walk through a real lava tube. Our guide, Justin, was very knowledgeable about each stop but also about Hawaii’s history. He had a great sense of humour. Surprisingly the lunch meal (chicken teriyaki) was very well done as well a host of complimentary snacks. I would recommend it!

Fun guide and perfect trip around the island! - Kona Chris was the best!! He gave so much information about the island’s history and perfect story telling! My family had an amazing time! It was raining hard but we didn’t mind. If getting wet is an issue for you, I’d recommend not going during raining season. In my opinion, the waterfalls were more intense with the rain, walking through the rainforest in the rain was a cool experience, so 10/10!

Worst tour guide experience - When you’re in a van for nearly 12 hours and paying a substantial amount for the service, you want a guide who is compatible, respectful and professional. We had plenty of hopes for this tour based on earlier feedback but we ended up having a very bad experience with our assigned guide. He ran an authoritarian style tour, yelling at the passengers for asking clarifying questions, insisting that everyone is expected to listen the first time around. If you’re on a long road trip, sometimes you fall asleep or you miss a detail because there’s noise around you. His behavior humiliated my family and me. When we addressed this issue, he deflected by claiming we returned to the bus late, something he had never mentioned previously. He even went so far as to say that we take a taxi back to the hotel from the opposite side of the island. Your tour guide suggesting he abandons you on a paid tour for asking a question? We’ve never experienced anything like this. If you’re non white and have children, take your business somewhere else. We had a great experience in the star gazing tour as well as the snorkeling tour with sophisticated and professional guides.
