Snorkel in three spots in one morning with an ecologically-minded company! - We really enjoyed our snorkeling tour of the Kona Coast with B (Bee? Bea?) and M.G.! I wish it had been a warmer day, as we got a bit cold in our wet swimsuits as we traveled from one snorkel site to another, but it was very exciting to get to snorkel in 3 spots in one morning!
The first was Honaunau Bay. We had already snorkeled there from Two Step, but entering the water from the boat meant we were in a different part of the reef. We saw lots of great fish, but the most exciting thing was a small reef shark! The second spot was further down the coast; we were the only people snorkeling there as it was more remote, and there were some sea turtles in addition to the beautiful fish. The conditions there were slightly more challenging as there was a little bit of swell; we weren't in a protected bay. The third place was Kealakekua Bay which is spectacular, despite there being so many people snorkeling there. It was an excellent morning!
Zodiac boats are not my favorite kind of boat to ride, but I really appreciated that whenever any rubbish was spotted in the sea, they stopped to fish it out of the water and dispose of it properly on land. And it was fun to be in a smaller boat that could take us close to some of the lava cliffs to show us the fascinating geology of this very young island!

Excellent Snorkeling Tour with Sea Quest! - My wife and I went on the Deluxe Morning Snorkeling Adventure with Sea Quest on 6/2. This was our second tour with Sea Quest, and it was great! If you're considering this outing, you really can't go wrong. Sea Quest was again fantastic, and the snorkeling was excellent. Here are some more details:
Company: Sea Quest was very easy to work with, and very organized. They did everything they could to make sure we not only enjoyed the outing, but that we got our money's worth. Throughout the course of the outing they were very safety conscious, and gave clear instructions to the group regarding how much time we would have and also where we needed to stay during our snorkeling to stay safe. Overall, they were outstanding and we would absolutely book with them again.
Arrival: I mentioned this in our review of the Manta Ray night snorkel, but thought it was important to note it here again. You might not think arrival is that important, but it was definitely a differentiator once we got there. Sea Quest has their own area fenced off near the dock. They have picnic tables, a store, and people that are quick to get you checked in and answer any questions you needed. There were other manta ray groups staging around the same dock, but some were simply gathering in the parking lot or along the dock itself. It was really nice to have the separate area with attentive staff.
Equipment: As was the case with the Manta Ray tour, I was able to get prescription snorkeling gear from Sea Quest at no additional cost. This made a massive difference for me during the outing, as I was able to see everything clearly in the water. The snorkeling gear we used was in excellent condition, and fit very well - the crew helped to ensure everything was on properly before we got in the water at our destinations.
The Actual Outing: We chose the 8:15AM outing. We had a relatively small group of 10 people which was a perfect sized group for the boat. The ride to the first snorkeling location took some time, but it was a comfortable ride. Once we got to the first location, they outlined the areas where we should swim to see the best variety of fish, but also to stay a safe distance from the shore and from the boat channel in and out of the bay. We got our gear on and were offered a pool noodle to make the snorkeling a little easier for anyone that wanted one. The first area we stopped at looked somewhat intimidating, but ended up being a great area that wasn't as rough as it looked. We were able to snorkel for about 30-45 minutes and saw a ton of tropical fish, to include a white-tipped reef shark which was really cool! During our time in the water, the guides stayed close-by in the boat and were extremely attentive if anyone needed anything. Once we were done at the first location, we got back in the boat, where they offered us some snacks and drinks and a chance to dry off and warm up before the next location. On the ride to the next location they showed us some sea caves and discussed some of the different areas along the coast. At the next site we did essentially the same thing - snorkeling for 30-45 minutes where we saw a lot of great fish while the crew ensured our safety throughout. At the end of this we did some additional shoreline sightseeing, snacking and drinking on our way back to the dock. All in all, it was a fantastic experience with kind and knowledgeable guides who made sure we had a great time.
Overall: Another outstanding experience with Sea Quest! We will book with them again without hesitation, and you should feel comfortable doing the same.

Highly Recommend! - Highly recommend! We had a wonderful trip today with Kevin, Katelyn, and Ryan. They were superb guides and gave us lots of information on history, the lava tubes/caves as well as got us to amazing locations for snorkeling. We had one member of our group get seasick and another close, but they were very caring and helpful. We chose the Deluxe Morning adventure and would do that again or the more basic trip, but either would definitely be with Sea Quest. Some members of our group felt the shorter trip would have been fine but overall we really enjoyed stopping at both, and saw different things at each one. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Outstanding! - Fantastic trip with Captains Natalie, Calvin, and MJ! They were all super knowledgeable and professional while also being super approachable and friendly. They were awesome with some of the customers who were either not great swimmers or snorkeling for the first time. Highly recommend this company!!

THIS IS THE COMPANY YOU WANT!!!!! A++ AMAZING - A+++++ WAY more than 5-star, OUTSTANDING experience.
Capt. Brendan made this trip so unforgettable and amazing. He had great local knowledge of not just the surrounding areas and geography, but of the islands and stories of the islands themselves.
We saw Spinner Dolphins, Flying Fish, Eel, Pufferfish and many other tropical fish, and even two HUGE MANTA RAYS during the day time!!!
Capt Brendan was working hard the whole trip and still got us a great amount of time with the Mantas as we spotted them on the way back from our snorkel, GREAT captain.
This was an amazing experience, if you are even thinking about doing a snorkel on Kona Side, Sea Quest are the people to go with.
It was not our first time but there was a mix of first time and more experience snorkelers and we all had SO much fun.
I would highly HIGHLY recommend using Sea Quest for your snorkel trip, they did NOT disappoint and highly exceeded expectations.

Quality Staff Made a Quality Experience - My Wife and I went on a Manta Night trip and a day snorkel trip with Sea Quest, both were great. Bea was the captain on the day trip and a wealth of knowledge about the sea life, Hawaiian history, and geology. We went to the reef at the Cook Monument and while the number of companies doing trips meant a number of snorkels were in the water, the reef itself was in amazingly good shape with a wide variety of tropical fish.

Fish, a turtle, and an eel - oh my! - I was very nervous the ghost snorkeling because I had never been but the crew was amazing. Steve and Tavan took great care to make sure we were comfortable and felt safe. The fish were amazing and we also saw a sea turtle and an eel. I would highly recommend this company and experience.
