• Hilo - Drive through the historic downtown Hilo and learn about the devastating tsunamis of the past.

• Rainbow Falls - Experience the breathtaking 80-foot Rainbow Falls. These stunning falls are named for the rainbow often seen in the mist as the water cascades 80 feet down to the rocks below.

• Kaumana Caves Park - Next, explore the lava caves! Descend into a lava cave through a skylight, also known as a lava tube. Kaumana Caves were formed by Mauna Loa, one of the largest volcanoes. The guide will explain how molten lava creates these spectacular lava tubes and the fascinating colors inside.

• Pahoa - On our journey, we will pass through the quaint town of Pahoa. Once a thriving plantation town, it is now a laid-back hippie town with old-school artistic charm and wood-plank boardwalks. Witness the current lava flow that nearly erased this town from the map.

• Lava Tree State Park - Walk a trail among lava trees resembling a petrified forest and peer into a deep fissure. This unique volcanic sight is a must-see.

• Pohoiki Bay - WALK ON HAWAII’S NEWEST BLACK SAND BEACH! This incredible creation by Kilauea’s lava flow is a sight to behold. Discover the newly formed black sand beach, once the site of an old boat harbor and ramp, now cut off by the expansive black sand beach. Swimming is not permitted here.

• Pohoiki - VOLCANICALLY HEATED HOT POOL
  If conditions allow, enjoy a special highlight by walking a short trail to a volcanically heated hot pool. Feel the warm water as the guide explains its volcanic heating. This small hot pool is unique, as the last lava flow destroyed all other volcanically heated hot ponds. After this delightful experience, enjoy the sights on the return to port. Swimming is not permitted here.

• Leilani Estates - Several earthquakes cracked open roads, and lava fountains spewed lava 300 feet into the sky, leading to the evacuation of nearly 2,000 residents. This incredible force even evaporated Green Lake, Hawaii’s largest natural freshwater lake. We will show you areas of mass destruction from the Kilauea Volcano.
