• Waiparous Valley Road - Starting from Banff/Canmore, the journey heads east and then north through the scenic foothills and rolling pastures of Highway 40, passing through the charming Waiparous area before venturing into the remote Ghost Valley via the Ghost access road.
• Black Rock Mountain - Upon entering the secluded Ghost Valley, there is a stop for breathtaking views atop the “Big Hill.” From this vantage point, the descent into the North Ghost River Valley begins, surrounded by towering rock walls and mountain peaks. Sightseeing and a potential short hike at the visually stunning Black Rock Mountain are highlights.
• Ghost River - The exploration continues up the North Ghost River Valley by 4x4, reaching the Valley of the Birds. Here, visitors are treated to spectacular views of Spectral Peak, with a stop for lunch and a brief sightseeing walk to a hidden waterfall.
• Devils Head - Returning from the North Ghost, the journey proceeds down the South Ghost by 4x4 trail along Orient Point, offering views of Devils Head Mountain. The exploration extends to the Devils Gap and the edge of Banff National Park.
• Lake Minnewanka - The adventure includes exploring the back end of Lake Minnewanka and the Devils Gap. The return journey follows the 4x4 trail back up the “Big Hill” and retraces the route via the Ghost access road back to Waiparous and Highway 40, concluding in Banff and Canmore by late afternoon or early evening.
