• Bilbao La Concordia Station - The Concordia train station, designed in the early 19th century, features impressive architecture both inside and out, and serves as the starting point for our alternative route through the Bilbao La Vieja neighborhood.
• Martzana Kaia - Situated to the left of the San Antón Bridge, it is named after an old tower house that once stood nearby. Today, it is a vibrant area filled with bars and restaurants, reflecting the neighborhood’s transformation in recent years.
• BBK Kuna | Garapen Jasangarriko Helburuen Etxea (GJH) - This former nursery, once a place where the children of day laborers were cared for, is now being transformed into a center for promoting innovation projects. Nearby, we will also explore various urban art pieces created by local artists (external visit only).
• Centro Municipal Bilborock-La Merced - A former 17th-century church that has been converted into a cultural center featuring a concert hall, cinema, and workshop rooms.
• San Luis meategiko kiskaltze-labea - This old calcination furnace from the San Luis Mine stands as a reminder of the area’s mining past and leads to the Miribilla neighborhood, the latest urban regeneration project in the area.
• Bilbo Zaharra Kalea - Once the border between old Bilbao and Calle de San Francisco, it has now become a lively area thanks to new restaurants and urban art installations that adorn its corners.
• Mariaren Bihotza Plaza - This square, the heart of the multicultural San Francisco neighborhood, is home to the site of a 16th-century Franciscan convent and Sarean, a community meeting space managed by a local cultural association. Here, we will have the opportunity to conclude the route with a beer.
