Bishkek - Burana Tower - Kok Moinok Canyon - Cholpon Ata
Bishkek - In the morning, the operator will pick you up from your hotel and head directly to the Issyk Kul region (230km).
Burana Tower - En route, there will be a stop at the renowned 11th-century Burana Tower. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a must-see for history enthusiasts. The visit will last about 30 minutes, allowing time to climb the tower, explore the archaeology museum, and view the “balbals” (ancient carved stones).
Kok Moinok Canyon - Continuing the journey to Issyk Kul, there will be a visit to the scenic Kok Moinok Canyon for a delightful hike (1 hour round trip). Lunch will be enjoyed at a restaurant.
Cholpon Ata - Upon reaching Cholpon Ata, the central town on the lake’s north coast, the group will head to the local dock for a stunning boat ride on the lake. The boat will travel 4km out to a depth of 120 meters. During the warm season (May-September), guests can dive into the water for a refreshing swim (life jackets provided). In other seasons, the boat ride offers breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Check-in at a hotel, followed by dinner at a restaurant and personal leisure time.
Cholpon Ata - Grigoriev Gorge - Semyonov Gorge - Karakol - Jeti Oguz Valley
Grigoryevka - In the morning, the journey continues towards the lake’s south coast. Along the way, the group will visit the stunning Grigoriev and Semyonov gorges to admire their beautiful landscapes, including a hike to the hidden alpine lake Suttuu Bulak (2.5 hours round trip). Lunch will be at a village café.
Karakol - Arrival in Karakol, a town situated between the north and south coasts. A brief city tour includes the Dungan Mosque (1910) and the Russian Orthodox Church (1895).
Jeti-Oguz Canyon (Seven Bulls Rocks) - Continuing along the south coast to the famous Jeti Oguz Valley (Seven Bulls). The journey leads deeper into the flower-filled valley to “Jailoo” (green summer pasture) where yurt camps are located. Here, guests will enjoy a magnificent horseback ride through forests and mountains to the enchanting “Maiden Braids” waterfall. Check-in at a yurt camp with free time to explore the meadows. Dinner will be followed by a bonfire and stargazing. Overnight stay in yurts (traditional Kyrgyz dwellings).
Jeti Oguz - Skazka Canyon - Ak Sai Village - Bishkek
Jeti-Oguz Canyon (Seven Bulls Rocks) - The final day of this wonderful journey offers more exciting activities! After breakfast, there will be time to enjoy the panoramic views of the Jeti Oguz red rocks.
Bokonbayevo - The next stop is Ak Sai Village to witness the spectacular Eagle Hunting demonstration (an eagle hunting artificial prey). The Berkutchi (eagle’s owner) will explain this traditional hunting method, followed by an opportunity to participate in archery. A delightful picnic will be held on the wild beach of Issyk Kul Lake, with opportunities for eating, swimming, and sunbathing. A short hike to the Canyon of Forgotten Rivers (1 hour round trip) will follow.
Bishkek - It’s time to return to Bishkek (230km). Upon arrival in the capital, guests will be dropped off at their hotel (not included). This marks the end of an intense yet amazing tour. Thank you very much!
