You will drive along the border with Kazakhstan and, if the weather is clear, you will see the beautiful scenery of the Tien Shan mountains. Great trip to Konorchek canyon - Great trip to Konorchek canyon. We drove a couple of hours from Bishkek to the start of the trail and walked along a river bed for about an hour and a half before arriving to the canyon. Getting there involved climbing through a few tricky obstacles, but nothing that involves extra training and it was quite safe. Our guy gave us tips on how to.climb over natural barriers. The view at the end is spectacular. The canyons remind me of the badlands in western Canada. Burana Tower was also a very interesting relic from the Silk Route.

Very helpful and patient guide and fab views in the canyon - This was a fab tour. The canyon walk is a bit challenging but the views are worth it!! Anvar was very helpful and made it fun to navigate the challenges. He was very patient with us!
He is knowledgable and always willing to answer any questions.
He took us to a fab restaurant and a place for snacks in the day and the food was tasty and plentiful throughout the day.
The car was comfortable and pick up was on time. Communication in the lead up to the tour was very good too.
I would highly recommend this company.

Excellent tour - Very good tour. The tour guide, Faruk, was really friendly and knowledgeable, and he shared a ton of interesting insights into life in Kyrgyzstan. He was also flexible with the pace of the hike, and the timing for some of the basics like food and restroom stops, and I think that made it a very comfortable day vs how many other tours (with different providers of course) can often feel over-produced. Also, the canyon itself was a good hike/walk, with nice views, and the entire stop for the tower was interesting and well worth it. I have some great photos and memories I'll be taking with me from the tour, thank you!

Winter History & Canyon Views: A January Day Trip to Burana Tower and Konorchek Canyons - Taking a guided (Mr. Talgat of Datka Travel) day trip to Burana Tower and the Konorchek Canyons in January was a perfect mix of history, adventure, and surreal winter scenery. With snow blanketing the landscapes and crisp mountain air all around, the experience felt both peaceful and awe-inspiring.
We started at Burana Tower, an ancient minaret dating back to the 11th century. Our guide brought the history to life, telling us stories about the Silk Road and the ancient city of Balasagun. The surrounding field of balbals (stone warrior statues) looked hauntingly beautiful in the snow. We even climbed the tower for a panoramic view—icy, yes, but totally worth it.
Afterward, we headed toward Konorchek Canyons, a lesser-known gem that felt like a scene out of another planet. The red rock formations dusted with snow created this stunning contrast that you really only see in winter. The hike into the canyon was manageable, especially with our guide choosing the safest path and pacing it well. Along the way, he explained the geological formations and shared fun facts that made the landscape even more fascinating.
Though it was chilly, the fresh mountain air, striking views, and lack of crowds made it feel like we had the whole place to ourselves. Plus, our guide came prepared—with extra gear and a great sense of humor.
If you're up for a bit of walking and want to see Kyrgyzstan’s natural and historical sides in one day, this January tour is an absolute win. Just dress warmly, wear good boots, and prepare to be amazed.

Very good - Reccomended! The tour was very good, with breathtaking views and an easy hike to the canyon. It is winter so the snow made it even better, even if it wasn't particularly cold, so don't worry about that. The guide Farouk is very nice and prepared and speaks English very well. If you are in Bishkek for a few days, do it!
