Once on site we will observe whales from the boat, providing detailed information on the species and behavior.
After spending some time we will head onshore to observe dolphins and snorkel and swim in the area with a view of Le Morne, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage site.

Take the road towards the sea branching off the main road opposite Ruisseau Creole Entrance and drive straight towards the sea. Parking spaces are available in the area. We will meet you at the gate. Feel free to call once you are in the area for directions.

Outstanding whale-watching experience with Captain Vassen Kauppaymuthoo - We had an amazing whale-watching excursion today with Captain Vassen Kauppaymuthoo. From the very beginning, he was professional, calm, and extremely attentive, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip.
We were also incredibly lucky — thanks to the captain’s experience and excellent knowledge of the area, we managed to spot around ten whales, which made the trip truly unforgettable. He guided us with great respect for the animals and their natural environment, and everything felt smooth, well organized, and safe.
A big thank you to Captain Vassen for his kindness, patience, and expertise. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a high-quality, trustworthy whale-watching tour!

Dolphins, sperm whales & pure magic – moments we will never forget! Thank you Vassen! - If you want to treat our marine mammals with respect, Vassen is the place to be! It’s worth getting up early – the private tour isn’t a bargain, but worth every single cent.
We were incredibly lucky: First we saw many groups of dolphins, including mothers and their young. And then – as an absolute highlight – a sperm whale! His jump from the water was an unforgettable moment. Unfortunately, the camera was not on hand in time, but the memory remains forever.
Sad to see that some suppliers drive too close and too fast to the animals without consideration – this caused the whale to dive. With Vassen, things are very different: with mindfulness, patience and great respect for nature.
After whale watching, we anchored in a picturesque spot, with snorkeling facilities and then enjoyed a cozy breakfast on board with Vassen and his skipper – accompanied by dolphins who came closer by themselves once the engine was off.
Thanks also to Joshua for the perfect transfer.
This tour is a 15 out of 10 points and highly recommended. Not only did we learn a lot about the fascinating animals, but we also met wonderful people.

Wonderful Experience - We really enjoyed it! The whales were far enough away that we also enjoyed the quick boat ride. Everything went well, we saw them! Thank you so much for organizing! I highly recommend this excursion!

Unforgettable Whale Watching Tour - We got the whale watching tour cancelled twice and booked with Vassen at very last minute. He responded very quickly and was very flexible to support our safari time. We saw four different spices (3 kinds of dolphins and 1 kind of whale) in 3 hrs (actually 2 kinds of dolphins and 1 kind of whale in the first hour). Vassen is very knowledgeable about the sea and gave us a short intro before we departed. He hosted the tour and watched both animals very friendly by keeping a safe distance and not speeding the boat, thus all of us had a very enjoyable time.

Superb morning sighting sperm whales and dolphins - Great morning with Vassen to go whale watching and dolphin watching with family. Vassen is an oceanographer and provides many very interesting explanations. He is very respectful in approaching animals. We definitely recommend a boat trip with him!

An unforgettable experience - An unforgettable experience: Accompanied by an expert such as Vassen has given this tour a whole new dimension. Not only did we have the chance to observe sperm whales and dolphins in their natural habitat, but we also benefited from his knowledge and experience, an exceptional wealth.
What struck me most, beyond the beauty of the moment, was the deep respect shown to the animals and the care taken at every step of the excursion. The precautions taken are exemplary.
All organizations offering this type of activity should be guided by it. Unfortunately, we have also seen on the spot that these good practices are far from the norm.

Best eco boat safari in Mauritius - We have done several trips with Vassen over the years and this again did not disappoint. As an oceanographer, he is incredibly knowledgeable and so thoughtful about Mauritius and the challenges faced by marine ecosystems.
He has an excellent and powerful boat which allows us to quickly get to where we need to be and he is also a considerate and thoughtful skipper and will adjust the speed and handling of the boat to accommodate different guests’ preferences.
We once again managed to see dolphins but Vassen is always very careful about interacting with them in a careful manner as opposed to the harassment that they regularly endure from other operators. The snorkelling was also wonderful.
If you are into eco tourism, this is probably the best boat safari you can do in Mauritius. Strongly recommend!

Fantastic day of spotting marine wildlife - My family of six had a fantastic day out with Vassen. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was a very, interesting and friendly host. We learnt so much about sperm whales, dolphins and sea turtles and he even told us about the elusive giant squid that lives kilometres below us at the bottom of the ocean. We also learnt a lot about the history of the island. We had an absolute blast, I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. We stopped for lunch at a beautiful beach restaurant and enjoyed the unparalleled views of the Mauritian lagoon. I would definitely go again. Our children age 19, 17, 15 and 10 all rated the trip five stars.
