Thingvellir National Park - This is where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates are drifting apart. Few places on Earth provide such a clear view of this significant geological activity. Thingvellir National Park is also home to Iceland’s largest natural lake, which supports a diverse array of fish and bird species. Additionally, Thingvellir holds great significance in Icelandic history, as it was the site where Icelanders established their parliament in 930 A.D., with chieftains gathering annually each summer. The name “Thingvellir” translates to “Parliament Plains.”

Gullfoss Waterfall - The meltwater from Langjökull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier, cascades into a deep canyon, creating the magnificent “Golden Falls.” On sunny days, visitors can see the distant Langjökull glacier and enjoy a rainbow in the waterfall’s mist, making it a perfect Instagram moment!

Geysir - The Geysir geothermal area features hundreds of vibrant hot springs and two erupting geysers. One is named “Geysir,” which has lent its name to all geysers worldwide, though it rarely erupts today. The other, “Strokkur,” erupts every 5 minutes, reaching heights of up to 40 meters.

South Coast

Seljalandsfoss - The journey begins with a pickup in Reykjavík in a cozy minibus, heading straight to the South. The powerful spectacle of Seljalandsfoss announces the arrival. With a raincoat, visitors can take a short hike behind the falls. The view from behind and the ground’s tremor from the cascading water create an instant Instagram sensation!

Skogafoss - Further east along the coast lies the picturesque Skógafoss waterfall. Nestled in a small gorge, the Skógá River plunges down a 60-meter cliff before flowing towards the Atlantic Ocean. A staircase alongside the gorge leads to a vantage point above the waterfall, offering breathtaking views. Try counting the steps on the way up.

Skaftafell National Park - Visitors will hike an outlet glacier originating from Vatnajökull, one of the country’s largest glaciers. After meeting expert glacier guides and equipping safety gear, including helmets, harnesses, crampons, and ice axes, the group will hike on the ice for an hour and a half. This is a remarkable opportunity to learn about this awe-inspiring and increasingly rare natural phenomenon. The Skaftafell area has served as a filming location for many popular TV shows and films, such as Game of Thrones, Interstellar, James Bond, and more. South East Iceland

Jokulsarlon - Day three begins with a visit to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and a boat tour among the icebergs. This 200-meter-deep glacial lagoon is fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe’s largest glacier. Massive icebergs drift from Breiðamerkurjökull year-round, filling the lagoon with ice that floats south. Stroll alongside the glacier lagoon to enjoy the stunning views and the serene silence of Icelandic nature.

Reynisfjara Beach - Before returning to Reykjavík, the tour visits the black sand beach of Reynisfjara, where the Atlantic coastline features massive waves crashing against unique basalt columns in the cliffs above the sand. Rock pillars in the water and the cliffs of Dýrhólaey are visible in the distance. This area is a haven for bird enthusiasts, as puffins and numerous other unique species nest atop these cliffs during the summer months from June to August.

Katla Ice Cave Kerlingardalsvegur - The Katla Ice Cave is a breathtaking natural ice cave beneath the Mýrdalsjökull glacier in southern Iceland, renowned for its shimmering blue ice and dramatic formations.
