From beginning of September to April the chances of seeing the Northern Lights in Northern Norway are great.
The weather (cloud cover) and the geomagnetic prognosis determine where the road takes us on the given day.
We will take you where the chances of clear skies are the greatest and the best locations for seeing the Northern Lights.
We go all in…
From beginning of September to April the chances of seeing the Northern Lights in Northern Norway are great.
The weather (cloud cover) and the geomagnetic prognosis determine where the road takes us on the given day.
We will take you where the chances of clear skies are the greatest and the best locations for seeing the Northern Lights.
We go all in to find the Northern lights by checking 25+ different spots. Some nights we have a late return to Bodo (like 2 am).
Last seasons we have had a hit rate around 80 %. Before the trip starts we will advice on how the chances to see the lights are.
We head out from town in a comfortable Mercedes 7 seater van (4WD) with panoramic sunroof.
- You should be prepared for a long night.

Wonderful experience with excellent guide - Thank you Ivar and Julia for keeping up personal communication through our internet booking difficulties and enabling my husband and I, at the end of a week in early March in north Norway without seeing the Northern Lights, to see them in full splendour and then later when you shared your fabulous pictures. We were lucky, as you said, to find a strong solar storm early in the evening. We appreciated being in a small informal group (eight in a minivan ) with Ivar who drove us to the places he knew would make good photos such as wooded hills in moonlight, fjord with reflected light, city skyline from old fortress, stopping for as long as we wanted ( or could stand in the cold). It was a beautiful sight in all the places, the Lights moving and dancing. I will never forget it. We would recommend Bodo as a good place from which to see the Lights, with such varied landscapes and sea views and not likely to get so booked up as Tromsø or Lofoten.

Northern Lights Tour Delivered!! - Ivar was a wonderful host, attentive to us having a great experience. There were six on the tour, four of us and two others. His van was roomy and comfortable for the six of us. It is evident that Ivar enjoys what he does. He did an excellent job of setting expectations and explaining what creates the lights. Bodo is a wonderful City, made better by Ivar and his tours.

Magic night - Experience absolutely recommended.
Congratulations especially to our guide, Ivar, who with professionalism 'and sympathy made us live a Nordic adventure.Besides looking for the Northern Lights we visited magical places with surreal atmospheres.
We also received valuable advice on how to organize the research on our own, with chart readings, applications and other material that was also useful in the following days.

A great recommendation! Anytime again! - Ivar was a great guide. He told us a lot about the area, locals and of course Northern Lights. He is very friendly, helps with camera settings and tried everything so we could see lights.
Fortunately, as managed to see some lights - it was incredible! Thanks for this tour(s) Ivar!! A great recommendation!!

Great fun with northern light chasing - I had great fun with Ivar. The weather was cloudy so we drove all the way down to Sweden to chase the northern light.
Ivar was such a great and professional guide, he shared very useful information on how to read the information from various websites to best predict northern light.
If you are making a stop in Bodo, don’t hesitate to contact them for a great experience.

Fantastic Northern Lights Experience! - Ivar did an amazing job teaching us how to find the lights and tirelessly getting us to where we could find them! He is also fun to talk to, and has a wonderfully infectious enthusiasm for Northern Lights hunting. I would 100% recommend this company and would do this tour again!

Epic Northern Lights Tour! - A once-in-a-lifetime experience! This was our third trip above the Arctic Circle trying to see the northern lights, and Ivar went above and beyond to help us find them. Even better, Ivar taught us all about why they occur and how to know if you have a chance of seeing them. He was unfailingly positive, friendly, determined, and helpful. Highly, highly recommended and sincerely appreciated.

BODO Pursuit of Northern Light - Looking at the northern lights, you can not consider going to TROMSO, try to come to the south side of a bit of BODO, consuming a lot of cheap, city scenery is good, there is a SALTSTRAUMEN whirlpool nearby to see. If you want to participate in this place's tracking group, to find the NORDLAND TRUSELSKAP.

Totally recommend it - Ivar is such a good guide and person. He is very knowledgeable about Northern lights and he tries his best to catch the northern lights he will take you to the end of the world to make sure you see them. He also is open to recommendations if you have one. We managed to see a bit of the northern lights, it was not in it's maximum expression, but it was definitely possible to see it with your eyes and your phone. Make sure to bring a good camera.
Ivar took the time to talk to us about life in bode and share lost of tips of where and how to go to other places outside the tour. Totally recommend it.
Always be mindful that seeing northern lights is a lottery, but Ivar will try the best he can to make sure you see them
