Day visit to Kos from Bodrum - Used Easy Book Tours to book a day trip to Kos through Jayne Carter. This was a great day out and it was so easy to organise through Jayne. After using her to book the Unicorn Boat Trip we used her for this as well. She arranges transport from your Hotel to Bodrum Harbour and back and the ferry tickets that you need as well. Depending on when you go there can be big queues at the terminal as it isn't the biggest of ports. If you go in the busy season be prepared to wait for up to 1 hour or more. We went just at the end of the season and we were through in about 20 mins. Don't forget to take your passport as you are leaving the country. Kos is a lovely island you get plenty of time to go see most of the new town and old town. Prices are in Euros for everything so just be aware if going with cash, we used a revolut card and was no issue. Definitely make the effort to go to the old town lovely shops and restaurants.

Gladly again - A nice travel offer if you want to do something on holiday. We visited the old town of Kos, which is only a few minutes walk from the port

Long day out - interesting though - Whilst it was an enjoyable day out, there was a lot of waiting about. Obviously, leaving Turkey and arriving in Greece means passport control both ways which took quite a bit of time - standing in the heat. Once in Kos there was quite a bit to see, the Castle (closed to the public) an old gymnasium, Hypocrites tree. Plenty of shops and places to eat. To fill the time we took a trip on the blue road train - which seemed to drive around for about 30 minutes round some of the sites, but with no commentary or information given. We were in Kos town for around 6 hours before returning to the port for another long wait in a queue. The ferry was clean and quick - be prepared for a bit of choppy water. Also be aware there is a €15 port tax to be paid. The day was a bit to long for wandering around.

Kos Day Trip Good but Rushed and Fees Unclear - Check-in and boarding were simple. Passport control took some time which is normal. We were charged a 15 Euro port fee per person. The ticket said the port fee was not included so that was fine but it should be clear how much it is. I asked using the contact given but they could not say the amount. For a daily crossing they should know what is charged and explain it properly. I do not understand why it is not clear. The return time was fixed at 4 p.m. with boarding starting at 3 p.m. This was not clear when booking so we had around five hours in Kos. It made the day feel rushed. Kos is nice. It is a lovely town with lots of shops, old streets and interesting ruins to see. It deserves more time than we had. Check exactly what is included, confirm how much the port fee is and see if you can get a later ferry and if there is any extra cost for that.

Bodrum is okay, don't necessarily be excited about coming from Kos - First by bus from hotel to port Kos, then it is at least a fifteen minute walk to the customs tent on the other side of the port for passport control, about 400 people then have to pass through 2 customs officers, so long queue. Keep this in mind in very hot weather or rain. Or head to the port on your own to get ahead of the queues. Buses from different hotels all arrive at the same time! Ferry about 30 min. Boarding and another passport check, now on the Turkish side also take a lot of time. If you travel back you will of course have to deal with this riddle again. Bodrum is okay, I just didn't think it was worth it to travel to it like this. Must also say that we got quite a lot of rain to choke up and that you are not completely covered in the queue.

Day trip to Kos - We found customer service very disappointing. Although the booking confirmation stated 7-30am hotel pick up we were told the night before we may not be eligible for hotel pick up !! Eventually they agreed to collect us at 06-40am. Although the driver was prompt he had no idea where he was taking us. All in all not a good start. However we thoroughly enjoyed Kos and would recommend it. Just maybe use a different travel company.

Once but never again - The boat trip itself was well arranged. Just in time. Keep in mind that you have to go through customs both on the way and back. Bodrum itself I hated! The people so pushy, against the antisocial. Most food and drink establishments are incredibly expensive. I myself found it very hot, but that is personal. The only positive was the castle near the marina. This was really very interesting and neatly maintained. Don't try to stock up on your smoking goods duty free, because you can only take them back to Greece on a limited basis. At the duty free shop in Bodrum they try to sell you as much as possible, but back on Kos you have to go through the control. Final score, with a 20-minute boat ride you really find yourself in a totally different culture and country. We've been there, but never again for us. We were happy to be back in Kos.
