11/10: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Uyuni Experience — Flawless from Start to Sunset - Our visit to the Uyuni Salt Flats was, without exaggeration, an 11 out of 10.
We started the journey in La Paz, taking an overnight bus to Uyuni. The bus ride itself isn’t glamorous — it’s a necessary investment in the experience — but it’s absolutely worth it in both directions once you see what awaits you.
When we arrived in Uyuni, Constancio was there waiting for us exactly as planned. From the first interaction, his professionalism stood out. He immediately took us to a local hotel where we could have breakfast and clean up from the bus ride before beginning the tour. That thoughtful touch set the tone for the entire day: organized, considerate, and exactly as advertised — if not better.
From there, the tour began, and it exceeded every expectation.
Julia, our guide, was exceptional. Her English was excellent, which made the experience seamless and engaging. She was patient, answered every question thoroughly, and demonstrated deep knowledge of the geology, history, and culture of the region. Beyond her expertise, she was genuinely fun to spend the day with — warm, funny, and incredibly easy to interact with. On a private tour, personality matters, and Julia made the experience feel personal without ever being overbearing. She struck the perfect balance of professionalism and approachability.
Constancio was equally impressive behind the wheel. Navigating the vast salt flats requires skill and awareness, and we always felt completely safe and well taken care of. He was punctual, attentive, and clearly experienced. Together, Julia and Constancio made a fantastic team.
As for Uyuni itself — it is a must-see, once-in-a-lifetime destination. The scale, the silence, the reflections, the endless white horizon — it’s movingly beautiful in a way that’s difficult to articulate. It doesn’t just look stunning; it feels profound. The lunch in the middle of the flats and the sunset were absolute highlights. Watching the colors shift across the sky and reflect off the salt was something we will never forget.
Every element of the tour matched or exceeded what was promised. Logistics were smooth. Timing was perfect. Communication was clear. It felt premium, curated, and professionally executed from start to finish.
The only minor complaint was the bus ride — but again, that’s part of the journey and absolutely worth it.
If you’re considering Uyuni, stop researching and start booking. Go. And if you have the opportunity to tour with Julia and Constancio, you will be in outstanding hands.
Truly unforgettable.

I highly recommend this tour!!! - This was an amazing tour!! The salt flats are incredible, I would suggest that everyone sees them. This tour also includes a huge lunch, snacks in the afternoon, trip to Incauasi island, and more. Our guide Oscar was amazing, one of the best guides I've ever had. I highly recommend!!!

A must in Bolivia! - The organization is impeccable. We left La Paz by night bus (comfortable, with sleeping seats and blankets) on time. The next morning we were welcomed at the boutique Atipax Hotel, a beautiful place where we could rest in a comfortable room and take a good hot shower. The adventure in the salt desert then began. Our guide was simply passionate about the area and the desire to make us discover all the beauty of the landscape. His English was excellent. Dinner was super good, but the most magical moment is the sunset aperitif, a glass of wine in hand, on an infinite mirror of water. An unforgettable memory. The day ended in the same bus, still comfortable. I slept with my fists closed, dreams full of head.

thank you soledad & cristian <3 - Special thanks to our lovely tour guide Soledad López Ayaviri and our driver Cristian Cruz Vasquez! These two deserve a major raise! Although we were exhausted from the bus drive and a bit sketched out when we first arrived into Uyuni (you are literally in the middle of no where), Soledad and Cristian made us feel welcome and comfortable right away. We agreed as a family that this Uyuni trip was the best part of our trip. The views on the salt flats were overwhelmingly beautiful and truly a once in a lifetime experience. Soledad's english was impeccable and if you get the pleasure of having her as your tour guide, you are in great hands. We never felt rushed and she gave us space to enjoy the spots we visited. We really appreciated her efforts to make conversation and it never felt forced. You can tell she genuinely wanted to connect with her guests which made the experience more special. Lastly, she did such a great job with the photos and really took her time to get the best shots! Our driver, Cristian, was the sweetest, most professional, and helped us from start to finish. Thank you so much!

A full day on the Uyuni salt flats with overnight bus experiences - The Salt flats of Uyuni are a once in a lifetime incredible experience. Reaching Uyuni by bus from La Paz however proved to be an experience in itself. We booked an overnight sleeper bus ( Trans Omar) and while the seats reclined and gave each passenger plenty of leg room, the ride itself was horrific. Our bus broke down around 2:00am on the way to Uyuni. Although we did make it into town on time, it was not a good feeling to sit on the side of a dark highway in a foreign country.
The agency we booked with in La Paz was very helpful and patient with all our questions. Joe and Magui at Oasis Bolivia were our “go to” guides for all the city tours we took and helped us pick the best one day package (Full Day +Estrellas Premium). The tour included a small group of six people in a 4x4 with a guide for the entire day. We visited the train graveyard, salt museum including some local shopping. Once on the salt flats there were several stops with salt statues and the area where people hang flags of where they come from. The agency provided a bike, ponchos and rain boots for fun photos. We had a picnic lunch right on the salt flats, and a sunset snack which included red wine. As other cars began to leave the salt flats after sunset, we stayed back for at least another hour to see the stars come out. It was truly magical. The guide took professional pictures of us under the stars along with other fun group pictures we did throughout the day.
Getting back to the bus was a bit stressful as we got back to the agency office at 9:20 and our bus left at 10:00pm. There was no time to grab some food and our guide was nice enough to drive us to the bus terminal. I only had five minutes to go to bathroom before getting on the bus.
Overall, it was an amazing experience and Oasis Bolivia did not disappoint. However, I recommend they partner with another bus company.
Things needed for a trip like this:
1. Sunscreen and sunglasses and hat
2. Snacks and extra water
3. Layers of clothing. It gets very cold very quickly after sundown.

Good tour, with a few quirks - Very good tour - Mauricio was a great tour guide and Samuel was an excellent driver. Both of them took good care of us and made sure we were comfortable. The tour felt pleasantly stress-free and very well planned.
Unfortunately, the poor communication with Joker itself was a negative point for me. Until two hours before the tour, we weren't sure whether it would take place. This MUST be improved. We were about to cancel because no one was responding - strange that the tour was then so excellently planned.
Another negative point is the bus company
Titicaca - seats are reserved at the very back.
The smell and lack of hygiene on the bus are almost unbearable (I would recommend Joker switch to Todo Turismo, they have much better conditions!
Unfortunately, we were not offered a free shower as described, we had to pay for it ourselves and it was not a hotel room but a closet next to the garage...

Check if it is wet season. - Firstly, our tour guide, Lili, was great. The coach transfer and inclusive buffet breakfast exceeded expectations. Seeing the salt flats is a very surreal experience and undoubtably beautiful. HOWEVER, the majority of the advertising shows the picturesque mirrored reflections from the salt flats in the wet season. There is no mention that this is only visible in the wet season and what months of the year you can expect to see it. I booked this especially for my birthday (at quite the expense), so you can understand my disappointment, when it is not as advertised. I understand my failure to not research more thoroughly, but I still feel there should have been more obvious mention to this/less emphasis on the wet season. The salt flats are an unusual natural occurrence that not everyone is familiar with. I felt misled and so did the other visitors on our tour guide. Please do you research before booking this, to avoid the same disappointment. As I said, it is still beautiful, but not always as pictured.
