Kayak Trip / Hickory Island - These guys are knowledgeable and friendly. They provide excellent service. We had a great time in the water. The kayaks are in perfect shape and very comfortable. The launch is well-located, and parking doesn't flood with high tide.

No manatees but still a great experience - Coming from New England for spring break it was a super easy booking experience. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't see any dolphins or manatees but we saw plenty of fish and found some great seashells. Would easily do this again. My kids, family and friends loved the adventure.

Highly recommend MCE Tours! - My mom and I booked a 2-hour single kayak self guided excursion and enjoyed every minute of it! The online rental process was a breeze, the meet up location was easy to find and park at, and friendly staff were waiting for us with our kayaks ready in the launch. The employee that helped us launch was very knowledgeable, talking us through everything we needed to know from navigating (including best routes for the tide/currents at that time), how to reach them in case we needed any assistance while out on the water, and how to use the equipment. We were provided with everything we needed - a comfortable kayak & paddle, dry bag, and laminated map. Employees helped push us out at the launch to get us started and when we returned we paddled in, jumped out and they handled the rest. The routes on the map provided were easy to navigate and fun for all skill levels. Best of all, the scenery was beautiful.

Great experience - Our family had a great time kayaking in Bonita Springs exploring Big Hickory Island. We rented double clear kayaks, and while we are amateurs (and we had two kids with us) we were able to easily navigate the waters. We had fun, there was wildlife to spot (we saw pelicans, ibis, dolphins and fishes) and we explored a stretch of beach that doesn’t get a lot of visitors. We highly recommend Mike, he and his son were very nice! While we opted for a self-guided tour, we met the folks who did the guided tour and they had a great experience as well.

Beautiful area, nice workers, crummy advice and do not choose clear kayaks - Do not choose clear bottom boats. They do not maneuver like a traditional kayak. You will feel like a plastic boat bobbing in a bathtub . Also, if self guided, turn into the “tunnel” immediately. Your paddle will be much more enjoyable vs following the guides advice to paddle the outside of the mangrove. Our trip was a disappointment. Because of the difficulty and lack of control of the clear kayaks, we never made it to the beach area.

Beautiful area, Nice workers, do NOT choose the clear boats - April 2025 Easy booking, very nice workers, gorgeous area; clear kayak AWFUL! The clear kayaks do not have rudders, you sit deep on a removable seat. Very uncomfortable, especially if you are not tall. Kayaks are highly sensitive to water movement - feels like you are rocking in a toy boat in a bathtub. Other company’s offer clear boats with a rudder. I do not know how much of a difference this makes. Also, if you choose self guided, the guides tell you to go around the mangroves and return through the tunnels. Meanwhile the guides take their tours through the tunnels first. Go through the tunnels first and NOT around as they suggest when they hand you the map. We have kayaked as a family (2 adults, children ages 13 & 11) on many vacations including the Pacific Ocean, Great Lakes, and many other lakes around the country. Our trip would have been top notch if we would have been advised to avoid the clear boats. The workers admitted they are not “fans” of the clear boats and only have them because people want them.
