Participants will paddle in CLEAR tandem (2-seat) kayaks equipped with multi-color LED lighting systems. It’s a simple 15-minute paddle to the beach and main channel, where wildlife exploration begins. Big Hickory Island is an ideal habitat for marine life. Keep an eye out for shorebirds, dolphins (year-round), and manatees (April-October).

It is recommended to bring a hat, sunglasses, water shoes, sunscreen, and bottled water. Insect repellent and a long-sleeved sport pull-over are useful for managing bugs if they are present.

Kayaks have a weight limit of 400 pounds, with a maximum of 225 pounds per seat.

Kayaks are tandem (2-seat). If an odd number of participants is booked, accommodations can usually be made by converting one to a single. Book as needed, and contact will be made if any issues arise.

The minimum age requirement is 5 years old.
